Tropes

  • Chekhov's Skill: Ikki's talent at sleight of hand allows him to catch the corrupt judge in cahoots with Kudo using the Kangaroo Vistamp to rig verdicts.
  • Internal Reveal: Ikki finally introduces Vice to everyone else after he's able to be seen through his Gundephone50.
  • Kangaroo Court: The civilian conflict is a man gets framed in trial by both an Amoral Attorney and an inverse Hanging Judge in collusion with each other to do witness tampering.
  • Once More, with Clarity: Early on Ikki and Vice's attempt to secure evidence of Kudo threatening witnesses is shown to be largely unsuccessful, but it turns out not to be the case. After Ikki and Vice show evidence of Kudo, we're then shown how Vice had acquired some important info and the two hijacking a woman's phone to prove Kudo's guilt.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • First Ikki and Sakura are surprised at their dad Genta acting all serious when he produces a dossier on the corrupt lawyer that's the Vistamp user of the week. Played for Laughs when it's discovered he's just working with a bathhouse regular named Buu-san.
    • Second, Daiji gets home and is offered a bowl of curry, even if his family notes that he hates spicy food (and Sakura had gone overboard on the spices that time). The fact that he finishes the entire bowl is a sign that something's very wrong...
  • Red Herring: The signs pointing to Kadota as Kamen Rider Evil are proven to be just that with the reveal of his identity as Daiji's inner demon, Kagero.
  • The Reveal: Kamen Rider Evil is actually Daiji's inner demon, Kagero; George caught Daiji as Kagero earlier on, but rather than stop him he gave the latter the TwoSiDriver and the Bat Vistamp.
  • Unspoken Plan Guarantee: When Sakura asks Ikki if he was able to find evidence of Kudo's guilt, all he tells his sister is that he's got it all handled. The next day shows that yes, Ikki was successful in doing so.
