While Uncle is laid up with a cold (and reeking of garlic), the power of Tchang Zu, the Thunder Demon, activates. The relic which house them is found in an unlikely place: on a sunken ship. While Jackie, Tohru, and stowaways Jade and Uncle make their way to the sunken Oceananic to obtain the immortal castanets, Drago dispatches Ice and his boys to the same location (refusing to make the trip himself as being underwater would neutralize his fire power). In the clash for the thunder chi, Jackie is struck by a bad case of the bends. With Jackie not in his right mind, this could be the first time Drago might get away with the chi.
This episode provides examples of:
- The Bad Guy Wins: Drago manages to absorb Tchang Zu's thunder power and successfully escape, forcing the heroes to go after him in the next episode.
- Bait-and-Switch: When the Chi-O-Matic revealed the location of the immortal castanets, it displayed the letters A-N-I-C, leading Jade (and the audience) to initially believe they were on the Titanic. After the opening theme, it's revealed that they're actually on the Oceanic.
- Big Damn Heroes: Drago destroys Section 13's submarine and leaves the Chans and Tohru stranded on a floating iceberg. Fortunately, Captain Black arrives in a helicopter to save them.
- Dope Slap: After Jackie and Jade retrieve the castanets, Uncle does this to Jackie, much to his confusion. Uncle explains that in the process, his Chi-O-Matic had gotten soaked, and it needed to be dry in order to remove the demon chi.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Ice is reluctant to fight Jackie while he's acting cuckoo and even asks if he's all right.
- Fun with Homophones: When Uncle warns Jackie about getting the bends if he swims to the surface too fast, Jade thinks he meant a Benz and wonders what's so bad about getting a luxury car. The joke is made again later on when Jade comments Jackie definitely has the bends, with Jackie wondering where the car was.
- Giant Enemy Crab: On their way to retrieve the castanets, the submarine is attacked by a giant crab. Uncle can't do anything about it because the crab isn't magic. Jackie tries using the sub's controllers to wrestle with it and fails. Jade take over and is able to hold it off long enough to reach the sunken Oceanic ship. Later on, the crab returns and chases Jackie back to the surface, causing him to get the bends.
- Little Stowaway: Jade, as usual, who hides in the sub's locker. Since they were out in the middle of the ocean and couldn't turn back, there wasn't anything Jackie could do about it. After noticing the smell of garlic, Jackie and Tohru also discover Uncle in another locker, having refused to be left behind due to his cold.Uncle: Hi, Jackie!
- Took a Level in Dumbass: Jackie via getting the bends from surfacing too quickly. The episode ends with him in Section 13's decompression chamber to sleep it off.
- Worf Had the Flu: Or rather, the bends, which Jackie got from swimming to the surface while a giant crab was chasing him. Because of the state he was in, he wasn't able to fight properly, let alone prevent Drago from claiming the thunder demon chi.
- You Need a Breath Mint: When Uncle comes down with a cold, he treats it by eating more garlic than usual, to the point that everyone notices the strong smell. Towards the end, Jade even says that he seriously needs some mouthwash.
