Rubber Tropes!

  • Bottle Episode: Most of the episode takes place inside the Harts' living room, with a short scene in the Man Cave during Henry's dream, and a few shots of the porch outside during the party.
  • Brick Joke: While Henry is filming instructions from his parents, Kris shows a hard boiled egg from the fridge and insists him not to eat it. When she comes home in the end and retrieves said egg, she's angry when she finds the egg somehow got cracked.
  • Disappointed in You: Kris says this to Henry after finding her hard boiled egg cracked.
  • Epic Fail: While Jake and Kris were changing planes in Chicago, Jake had to go to the restaurant and accidentally dropped his passport in an auto-flusher toilet; when he tried to grab it, his arm got sucked down, forcing Kris to call the fire department to free him. This results in Jake and Kris cancelling their trip to Toronto and heading home early.
  • Home-Early Surprise: Jake and Kris were supposed to be in Toronto for three days; but one night after, Piper gets a call from them that they're coming home early after the loss of Jake's passport, forcing Henry to end the party early and shoo everyone out before they return.
  • Hope Spot: When Ray activates the remote causing Jake's car to fly off the chair, Henry catches it just in time before it falls into the tub used for his pedicure... but then Layla shouts to warn him that his nails are wet, startling him and dropping the car into the water.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: After gathering the $3,000 (and more) to pay for the car's repair, the repairman fixes it in mere seconds.
  • Shockingly Expensive Bill: It costs $3,000 to get Jake's vintage RC car repaired.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Ray has one brief appearance, but said cameo is the reason for Jake's car getting destroyed.
  • Wild Teen Party: Henry ends up throwing one against his parents' orders, in order to raise money to fix the car.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: To Risky Business. Both plots involve the protagonist left at home alone while their parents are out of town, the protagonist's friend convinces them to have fun, both get a car destroyed and a Shockingly Expensive Bill for the repair service (while in the movie the car was full-sized, this version has just a toy car), they have a Wild Teen Party to raise the money, both manage to get the house back to normal before the parents return, and the plot ends with the mother discovering their egg is mysteriously cracked and chides the protagonist for such.
