Wu finds a clue.

Awake, arise or be forever fall'n.

A riot targeting Wesen leaves a shopkeeper dead and a friend of Monroe and Rosalee missing, but Nick's investigation suggests it's just a prelude to what's coming.

Trubel reveals to Nick and Adalind what she's been doing for the last several months.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Armor-Piercing Question: Trubel asks about Nick and Adalind's relationship, particularly if Adalind loves Nick. Adalind goes into a lengthy episode of rambling until she's saved by baby Kelly waking up from his nap.
  • Call-Back:
  • Catapult Nightmare: Trubel wakes from one to find Nick bending over her in concern, holding baby Kelly.
  • Cliffhanger: The gang are trapped in a small room in the Abandoned Warehouse they've been lured to. It won't hold, so Nick goes out telling the others to bar the door behind him. He's outnumbered and quickly overwhelmed, only for his attacker to suddenly be lifted far into the air and dropped. The others come out to help Nick just in time to see his rescuer... Juliette.
  • Dirty Coward: Xavier goes along with a plan to set up the gang, including his friend Monroe, out of fear of the Black Claw.
  • Dramatic Irony: The audience knows Monroe is a target of the Black Claw, but the Grimm gang don't.
  • Facial Horror:
    • Xavier's woge face is that of a blobfish. No one is eager to see it.
    • Wu sees Renard's woge face for the first time when he uses it to intimidate Billie. He's fairly disconcerted.
  • History Repeats: This is not the first time Wesen businesses have been targeted by other Wesen. According to Monroe, the Paris Réveillon riots in 1789 are an example, as well as the Boxer Rebellion, the Civil War draft riots and the Boston Tea Party are all examples.
  • Internal Reveal: Renard is brought up to speed on Agent Chavez' death as the gang fill him in on Black Claw.
  • Lured into a Trap: Xavier "escaping" his captors, being persuaded to identify Billie Trump from a lineup, Billie agreeing to turn on the gang leader... all a ploy to lead the good guys into a Black Claw trap.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Rosalee, when she realises Xavier has helped set up the gang, especially when he sobs, "Why-why did you let Monroe go with them?"
    • The gang, when Rosalee calls to tell them about the trap, when they've just walked into it.
  • Spotting the Thread:
    • Xavier claims his captors never spoke to him and he has no idea what they want. Then, as Rosalee drives him home, he tells her that she has no idea what these people are like; "They're crazy, what they're gonna do." This leads Rosalee to realise the guys have been set up.
    • Nick realises something's off when Billie seems perfectly sanguine going into the Abandoned Warehouse where she's supposedly setting up her gang leader.
