Samantha and Jay, a young couple living in a cramped New York City apartment, inherit an old mansion which is inhabited by the ghosts of several people who died on the premises.

- As You Know: The ghosts explaining their powers and abilities to each other, which all of them would already know.
- Dead All Along: The doctor who talks to Sam after she starts seeing ghosts turns out to be a ghost himself.
- Establishing Character Moment: After falling down the stairs and being in a coma for 2 weeks, Sam can now see and hear every person that is deceased.
- Everyone Meets Everyone: Sam meets all the ghosts after her accident, after realizing that they aren't illusions.
- Exposition: The ghosts spend considerable time explaining and demonstrating their powers to each other, even though all of them are already aware of these things.
