Gin and Jouichirou go ahead with the Team Shokugeki training by testing Soma, Erina, Takumi and Megumi's ability to work in harmony without talking.
This episode provides examples of:
- Adaptation Distillation: In Takumi's Stagiaire flashback, the owner of the restaurant has some racist prejudices against Takumi by only looking at his picture, claiming that he looks like a weak kid. This scene was cut from the anime.
- Big Entrance: When the rebels reunite in the accorded location to make the tournament official, Azami arrives skiing, while Tsukasa follows him with a snowboard and Rindou on a sleigh. Azami claims that his way was faster.
- Butt-Monkey: Eizan becomes the butt of every joke in the Elite Ten, because everyone ends up making a reference of how Soma defeated him in his last Shokugeki. Even when Rindou tells the others to be nice to him, she still talks about him in an Innocently Insensitive tone.
- Calling the Old Man Out: While not explicit, Erina finally stands up to her father for the way he treated her and the academy... by stepping down from her council seat in order to assist the Rebels. Azami agrees to this under the condition that, if her team loses against his, she will become a permanent a part of Central without complaint.
- The Determinator: Frustrated by the fact that he couldn't fulfill his promise of facing Soma at the Autumn Election Finale, and it had to be Soma the one who got his mezzaluna back, Takumi decided to reinvent himself during Stagiaire.
- Hypocrite: Momo stars whining when Somei takes Bucchi and puts the Rebels' IDs inside it. Somei quickly rebuts that Momo treats it worse on daily basis.
- Important Haircut: It's revealed that Takumi's new haircut after Stagiaire was deliberated. One of the restaurants he was sent to had a prejudice against foreigners, so to prove himself to the owner, and shed away his old weaknesses, he cut his hair short.
- Serious Business: Soma starts taking the simulation seriously when he notices Takumi's determination in his cooking, while they look at each other with intense rivalry, mentally acknowledging him as The Rival and the only one who can get him fired up.
- Sherlock Scan: Since one of the requirements of the challenge requires complete silence, the chefs must pay attention to every step the other does and anticipate each other's needs.
