'Airdate: October 1, 2017

In this meta episode, Peter is upset that Family Guy hasn't won an Emmy since 1999note , so they pull every award bait trick and trope in the book to net one.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Bowdlerization: In the scene of Peter on Project Runway, the TV version is cropped to remove his penis (which is pixelated out) sticking out of his fly while Stewie's head covers up the fact that Peter is peeing himself in front of Heidi Klum. The DVD version has this uncut (save for Peter's penis being pixelated out).
  • Epic Fail: The family fail so hard at trying to win an Emmy, they actually get a negative one, owing the board an Emmy.
  • Fourth-Wall Mail Slot: At the end of the episode, Peter reads an e-mail from a young fan, who says that the show has helped them go through chemotherapy. However, Peter realizes that the fan confused them with a different show when the email says their favorite episode was the one where Homer stays home from church.
  • Ironic Episode Title: It becomes this by the end, since the family's shameless attempts to win an Emmy not only fail to win one, they get awarded -1 Emmy.
  • Jerkass: Julie Bowen towards Peter. She tells Peter that his show doesn't deserve Emmys and breaks his spirit.
  • Medium Blending: The "Casting Couch" cutaway with Asa Akira is filmed in live action with Peter, who is still animated, filming the whole thing.
  • The Oner: The scene where Peter and an Emmy representative walk around the house has no single cut.
  • Self-Deprecation: Ty Burrell - receiving another Emmy after fighting a rubber chicken - claims to have no more room for any of the Emmy Awards in his house. Despite the fact he only won two so far.
  • Take That!:
    • To the Simpsons crossover episode with Family Guy ("The Simpsons Guy") and how critics were more upset that The Simpsons would debase themselves this way while Family Guy gets ignored.
    • Then most of the episode gives one to the Emmys and the shows that win them.
    • After that one is given to viewers who place diversity over whether or not a show was actually good.
    • Finally there's a lot of Self-Deprecation that highlights quite a few of the problems people think the show has.
