Event Date: May 2021
Event Type: Invasion
Element: Fire
Theme Song: WON - Unique

This event contains examples of:

  • Born-Again Immortality: After the dragon-tree Yggdrasil dies it returns as a sapling.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: Luca was in the wrong to tell people about the remedy even after the warning of what would happen. However, he is right to point out the outside villagers suffering because of Yggdrasil. Even Sarisse acknowledges that both sides are right, but she considers Isaac to be more right and chooses to oppose her brother. The fight doesn't last long before Yggdrasil breaks down, and both sides have to deal with the fallout.
  • Dual Boss: Isaac and (Sharpshooter) Sarisse team up to fight.
  • Fish out of Water: Both Luca and Sarisse are this in Initio despite being sylvans themselves due to having never seen how North Grastaean sylvans work.
  • Good Versus Good: There are no jerkasses in this story, let alone actual villains. Everyone had the best of intentions, but local conditions meant conflict was inevitable.
    • Luca causes a conflict out of a desire to aid the villagers outside the Initio Forest; given the disasters they endured, he felt it was wrong to hoard a miracle cure that could ease their suffering.
    • Likewise, the villagers were suffering because of the many storms at the edges of town and the blighted soil failing to grow any crops, both of which stemmed from Yggdrasil's activity.
    • The people of Initio, Isaac in particular, were strongly against aiding the villagers out of tradition borne from serving Yggdrasil in their idyllic environment.
    • Yggdrasil had grown immense in a fashion that caused natural disasters and leached nourishment from the surrounding soil, preventing anything from growing, all to sustain its own life; were the processes that kept it alive to fail, it could die and take the entire forest with it. It was sentient in its own sense, but unable to communicate beyond its own actions.
  • Holy Ground: Initio the forest of Yggdrasil is this, being considered the holy territory of sylvans of Grastaea.
  • Multi-Mook Melee: This is the first event to introduce the Invasion type of event where you get points by racking up as many kills in as much time as possible. Standard is 1 minute, Expert/Master being 1:30.
  • My Fist Forgives You: Sarisse does this to Luca's solar plexus after his fight with her and Isaac.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Luca informing the outside village of the spiritree remedy led to the spiritree being hacked at in pursuit of a panacea for its ailing people, which in turn lead to grievous wounding of Yggdrasil and the collapse of the forest. Luca makes it clear that he knows what he did, but did not conceive that the problem would escalate this badly.
  • Villainy-Free Villain: In the grand scheme of things, Yggdrasil was at fault for the conflict, having leached the soil of its surroundings and bringing disaster with its rainstorms. However, it lacked the sapience required to communicate and did what it did solely to survive; one could say it grew in an unstable fashion, and when the spiritree was brought low, Yggdrasil died and the forest with it.
