Upon arriving at Arizona to investigate what "unknown evil" Dr. Aculus had learned about just before his murder by Eric, spiritual healer Amanda approaches the Hunters, disguised as FBI agents, to tell them that her friend Rainee Day was found murdered in her office. She's not lying, as they find the healer with a crystal shard through her heart with a tarot card also impaled through it.
Tropes:
- Disproportionate Retribution: Jesse killed Rainee over rejecting his love confession to her with the same crystal shard used to kill her... He actually wasn't in control of his actions at the time, a ghost was.
- Gemstone Assault: The killer used a crystal shard to stab Rainee Day in the heart, and left an upside down High Priestess card there.
- Hippie Name: The victim's name was "Rainee Day".
- Improvised Weapon: The killer used a crystal shard, to be exact.
- Not Good with Rejection: Jesse eventually reveals that he murdered Rainee for rejecting his advances. Ultimately subverted, as we later find out he wasn't actually in control of his actions at the time.
- Punny Name: Just take a look at the victim's name.
- Tarot Motifs: The High Priestess, reversed (Or upside down) in this case. The killer leaving said card like that reveals they read said cards. Later, we come to find out this is the signature of a serial killing ghost.
- Yandere: Jesse seems to be like this upon arresting him for Rainee's murder, killing her over unrecited love that he felt like was a betrayal. We later find out he was actually possessed into doing the deed.
