Recap / Camp Camp S 3 E 10 Operation Charlie Tango Foxtrot

Go To

The Wood Scouts have finally conquered Camp Campbell- haven't they? None of the Campbell Campers seem to see it, so each Wood Scout details them on the events of their latest raid.

Tropes:

  • Continuity Nod: The Wood Scouts have a board showing their targets at Camp Campbell, and Gwen's picture has little hearts drawn on it.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The Wood Scouts finally get their very own episode.
  • Failed Attempt at Drama: Pikeman's declaration of victory would have looked better if he and his men weren't tied to the top of the flagpole.
  • Hidden Depths: Petrol's version of the story is probably not what happened verbatim, but he more than anyone seems to have his teammates' issues nailed down.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: The Wood Scouts decide to TP the camp, and then leave Jermy alone with the flag. Unfortunately he needs to use the bathroom, and they just used up all the toilet paper...
  • Insane Troll Logic: Pikeman seems to think stealing the Camp's flag and mascot constitutes the transfer of property ownership.
  • Insistent Terminology: Pikeman doesn't have a badge in pencil-pushing, it's for paperwork!
  • No One Could Survive That!: Assuming Snake's story is accurate, he stabbed the platypus in the jugular and it only pissed the beast off.
  • Painting the Medium: The memory of Petrol, who never talks, is done entirely in character grunts with the meanings in subtitles.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: How Snake essentially views himself.
  • Toilet Humor: "You did what with the flag?!"
  • Unreliable Narrator: Each recollection is skewed, so to speak.
    • In Pikeman's version, the other Wood Scouts revere him as their glorious leader, and he's the only one with clear skin.
    • In Snake's version, the raid is basically a war movie, with himself as the grizzled veteran and Pikeman as his useless milquetoast CO.
    • In Petrol's version everyone grunts Banjo-Kazooie style (with subtitles) and is upfront about their emotional issues.
    • In Jermy's version, everyone is nice to him and respectful of his needs.
  • Warrior Therapist: Petrol actually seems to have a solid insight into the psyche of his teammates: namely that Pikeman is emotionally needy but pushes everyone away due to his ambition, that Snake is hauling around some emotional baggage, and that Jermy is disgusting but has a pretty positive self-image.
