Witness for the Prosecution
The DA hires Bull to help convict Hazel Diaz, an infamous drug dealer, who murdered a police officer but avoided jail by feigning schizophrenia. Meanwhile, Cable looks for a new job after the previous episode's events, but is stymied by background checks.
- Cop Killer: Before becoming one, Diaz tells her victim she spent a whole month trying to hire someone to do the job for her but everyone she approached for that purpose was too afraid of the consequences to do it.
- Dirty Cop: It turns out the motive for the murder was that the police officer was being paid to ignore Diaz's crimes, until he decided that enough was enough.
- Obfuscating Disability: Diaz's "schizophrenia", so she can get by with an Insanity Defense.
- Morton's Fork: At end of the trial, Diaz tries to pretend she suffering another episode to get out of her pending conviction. Bull, having predicted this, has an injection ready that, if she really is suffering from schizophrenia, it will end the episode. If she isn't, the injection will kill her. She opts to stop the injection.
