Run for it, Leafy!
The first episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, the Season 2 premiere of Battle for Dream Island, and the 26th episode overall. We find out which contestants received enough votes to advance to BFDIA, and the featured challenge is a tug-of-war.
This episode contains examples of:
- Added Alliterative Appeal: The radio commercial for the Leafy Detector describes it as a "lovely little lettuce-colored locator".
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: When everyone switches teams, we see a close-up of Donut's angry glare, with the screen only showing the row with his eyes, and Pencil changes the screen to a vertical rectangle, which is also Match's favorite screen. Fries then changes it to a hexagon, and Ruby changes it to a star. All the contestants then show their favorite screens, until Golf Ball stops them.
- Broken Record: "Yeah, who? I wanna know! Yeah, who? I wanna know! Yeah, who? I wanna know!..."
- Chase Scene: The episode starts with Leafy getting chased by the other characters.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Only Coiny and Pin join Donut's team, so the other team ends up being much bigger.
- Decoy Protagonist: In the intro, Leafy is the center of attention as she runs away from a mob of former contestants. She uses her map to escape to Yoyleland, and Pin rips the map to trap her there.
- Downer Beginning: The episode starts off with Leafy running for her life after Firey crashes the hang glider with the other contestants chasing her down in an attempt to execute her for what she had done in the previous season. Leafy skidoos into her Yoyle map to Yoyleland and Pin rips up the map to trap her there. This also shows that Pin and Leafy's friendship is over and destroyed for good.
- Everything's Better with Rainbows: Yellow Face's favorite screen. Also, Puffball speaks for the first time and shows off her vocoded voice and most importantly, her rainbow changing color ability when she speaks.
- Immediate Sequel: This episode picks up where the last episode of the previous season left off.
- Man on Fire:
- After Pencil stabs Donut, he retaliates by using Firey to set her ablaze.
- When Donut picks Match for his team, Pencil exhales fire from her mouth and attempts to set him on fire, but ends up setting Book on fire instead.
- Mind-Control Eyes: Puffball's vocoded voice puts Firey into a trance.
- Shout-Out: To Blue's Clues when Leafy says, "Blue skidoo, we can too!" and jumps into her Yoylemap.
- Title Drop: Done repeatedly by Puffball after Gelatin asks who the new host will be.
