Recap / Bar Rescue S 4 E 53 Were Gonna Need A Bigger Boat

Go To

The Cladakis family risks losing their bar due to an incompetent manager and an owner who is too nice to put his foot down and grieving the loss of his father.

This work contains examples of:

  • Crazy-Prepared: The father who owned the bar took the initiative to get the highest level of liquor license available, which pays off hugely, as it means they can sell their dead stock to get rid of it.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: The relaunch was a smooth success and the place is still open to this day, plus they got rid of the majority of their dead stock.
  • Grew a Spine: Manny finally puts his foot down after Garry's laziness at the stress test telling him to either come back in right now or don't come back at all.
  • Hot-Blooded: Crissy, Manny's younger sister, spends a good chunk of the recon berating Garry for his incompetence to the point that it devolves into a full-out screaming match between the two. Anna tells Jon that it takes a lot to slow her down once she gets worked up.
  • Lazy Bum: Garry was worse than Kevin from "Fairways". At least Kevin was doing his job and just had horrendous cleanliness standards and was so pathetic you actually felt a little sorry for him. Garry sat on his butt and was clearly taking advantage of a guy who was grieving his dad's death. It removes any sympathy you could have for him. It was so bad he wouldn't clean the beer lines because he was too lazy to call the owner and ask for a set of keys they needed.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The only thing Garry has above Kevin is he at least accepted being fired with grace and more; Garry quit as Manny said, "If you don't follow me back in here, don't come back." Garry refused to follow Manny back in and was never seen again.
  • Special Guest: Famous professional golfer John Daly shows up, as he's engaged to Manny's sister Anna.
