Recap / Arrested Development S2E7 "Switch Hitter"

Go To

Armed with Michael's good ideas, Gob goes to work for their competitor, Stan Sitwell. George Sr. thinks Sitwell is just trying to win the company softball game.

The Arrested Development episode "Switch Hitter" provides examples of:

  • Baseball Episode: Somewhat downplayed; only the last five minutes or so are actually devoted to the game itself.
  • Bavarian Fire Drill: Maeby gets a script reader at the studio to do her book report on The Old Man and the Sea by pretending to be a sarcastic studio executive.
  • Down to the Last Play: The scoreboard shows 6:6 when GOB gets his Rousing Speech by Sitwell and decides to finally play for real and win the game.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: We swiftly see Buster being pestered by one at the army camp.
  • Tempting Fate: Michael's line "Let [Stan Sitwell] see he's not the only one who builds solid houses, you know?" is followed by parts of the kitchen facade falling off.
