Go To

Air Date: November 2nd, 2003

While digging in the Aqua Teen's backyard, shake discovers a cursed sandwich from hell called the Broodwich, and must resist the temptation of eating it in order to avoid his death.

"Broodwich" contains examples of:

  • Art Shift: The dimension where Jerry resides is far flatter and angular compared to the usually rounded and shaded look the main trio has.
  • Artifact of Doom: The titular Broodwich. It's a sandwich made in hell from the most vile ingredients, and eating it fully will trap you in a dimension to be killed by an axe-wielding creature called Jerry.
  • The Bad Guys Win: Through much frustration, the voice is able to make Shake eat the tomatoes he left out by lobotomizing him at the episodes end, in turn allowing Jerry to finally ax Shake.
  • Delayed "Oh, Crap!": The Voice's second reward for Shake is free brain surgery, which he takes much more openly since his first was a dead skeleton bride. It isn't until after he finished celebrating did he realize what this really entails.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Shake is not fond of sundried tomatoes, which temporarily saves his life.
  • Downer Ending: Ultimately, Shake is tricked by the voice and consumes the entire sandwich, where he is finally killed in the other dimension.
  • Good All Along: Subverted. In the short time Meatwad ends up with Jerry, he comes out saying how he's actually a nice guy that took him to a strip club, which prompted Shake to give the Broodwich another try. When Frylock asks Meatwad if that's really true, he quickly drops the act and mentioned how Jerry also tried to kill him.
  • Loophole Abuse: Eating the whole Broodwich will permanently trap you in the Broodwich Dimension. Shake avoids that fate by picking off the sundried tomatoes, ensuring that the Broodwich hasn't been finished, and forcing The Voice to find a way to trick Shake into eating them for the rest of the episode.
  • Sinister Swine: Averted. Apparently there are no pigs evil enough to be sacrificed on a bed of evilnote . This is why the Broodwich has no bacon on it.
  • Talking Is a Free Action: The second time Shake enters the Broodwich Dimension, he casually looks at Jerry and his friend while they're having a conversation regarding their collections and their wives' negative responses towards their set up. It isn't until Shake finishes eating the Broodwich do they notice and try to kill him.
  • Take That!: Master Shake apparently collects Battlefield Earth fast food cups, insisting that they are in mint condition and will be worth a fortune; this is despite the cups littering the entire house and clearly being dirty.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Shake gets axed by Jerry once he gets stuck in the Broodwich Dimension.
