Summary

Blue spends his sweet time cooking and picnicking until he finds out that he has run out of Nether Wart. Panicking, he decides to return to the Nether, discovering that it was changed from the last time. He finds a baby piglin who offer to lead Blue to a stronghold, but the adults piglins attack him, until the baby tells him to wear a golden helmet to pacify them. They travel to the stronghold, but suddenly Blue loses his helmet and they are attacked by zombified piglins. Blue fights the zombified piglins while trying to keep the normal ones at bay without killing them, until he falls into the lava. Luckily he lands on a strider, and using a warped mushroom that the baby piglin has given to him, he guides the striders, retrieving his helmet in the process.

He return to the piglins and guides them through the lava lake using the striders, even risking his life to save the baby piglin from the zombies. During this, he loses his helmet again, but the piglins are still grateful for saving them, so they lead him to the stronghold. Meanwhile, the others have noticed his absence and using a pig summoned by Red to track Blue. They meet the piglins, but after seeing the pig and learning that they are friends with Blue, the piglins decide to help them. Blue reaches the nether fortress but finds that the Nether Wart is gone, until he is approached by what appears to be TSC, who offers him help. However the real TSC was with the others, reaching the stronghold in that exact moment.

Tropes

  • Adaptational Backstory Change: The appearance of zoglins with the zombified piglins implies that they can spawn naturally in the Nether rather the being created only hoglins are in the Overworld.
  • Adaptational Heroism: In the original game, piglins only become neutral if you distract them with gold, move out of agro range and then put on the helmet (or if you where already wearing one when you encountered them). Here, after Blue loses the helmet, they are hostile to him until he saves the young piglin, where Blue finally gains their trust. Also, the piglin child is friendly immediately to Blue. Same can go for the hoglins as well since they are naturally hostile mobs.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Very downplayed, but the Zoglins here appear to have removed zombified piglins from their very long list mobs that they hate.
  • Adaptational Villainy: In the original game, zombified piglins are ironically friendlier than their living counterparts, only attacking if provoked. Here, they're hostile to their living counterparts, as well as stick figures.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: The hoglins and zoglins here assist the piglins and zombified piglins, whereas in Minecraft proper, the former are hunted by piglins and the latter are hostile towards almost every mob, including Zombified piglins.
  • All for Nothing: After a long journey the place where Blue gets his Nether wart is already bare.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The warped fungi Blue got from the young piglin allowed him to guide the striders through the lava lake.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Blue going through a Nether portal with a Second Coming lookalike.
  • Discreet Dining Disposal: When Blue is offered warped fungus by the piglin child, he clearly isn't a fan of it and just pockets it when the piglin child isn't looking. The piglin child sees this and thinks Blue liked it so much he ate it in one bite, and so gives him another which Blue also sneakily pockets.
  • Does Not Like Spam:
    • In contrast to his favourite food, Nether Wart, Blue takes an immediate disliking to warped fungi even trying to hide it when the piglin child offers Blue some of it.
    • Subverted for the hoglins used by the piglin tribe, as they don't appear to have a problem with their usage of warped fungi, unlike their game counterparts.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Blue's obsession with Nether wart has been a running joke throughout the AVM series, but when it gets to the point where he's sneaking out to a dangerous location behind his friend's backs in order to get more, you have to wonder if it's really just the taste that Blue's obsessed with.
  • Forgot About His Powers: Blue didn't think to grab the Minecraft game icon and use Creative Mode to grab a ton of Nether wart with no hassle, instead deciding that sneaking back to the Nether is his best course of action.
  • History Repeats: Once again the group is split and has to find each other through the Nether portals.
  • Oh, Crap!: The baby piglin reacts like this whenever he sees Blue without his gold helmet, fearing that his adult counterparts will kill him. Followed by an even bigger one when he realised that Blue fell of the bridge in the battle.
  • Rule of Funny: The piglins switch from aggressive towards Blue to docile and cooperative based solely on whether he is wearing any gold armor, within a split-second of each other. In Minecraft proper, they would need to be distracted by being handed a gold item, or else have Blue escape their aggro range, in order for his equipping the helmet to pacify them. (Losing the helmet would have an instantaneous effect, though.)
  • This Is Gonna Suck: As everyone is heading into the Nether Portal, the Second Coming's body language makes it clear he is not looking forward to it.
  • Wham Shot: Once Blue is in despair due to the lack of Nether wart, some is thrown to him by the Second Coming. Even though he shouldn't know that Blue was looking for Nether wart and is without Red, Green and Yellow. The next shot shows Second Coming still looking for Blue with the others, which means Second Coming Blue met is a lookalike with unknown intentions.
