Dylan fights to regain control of his ship from the salvage crew. When their employer betrays them, they must work together to escape certain doom.
- Apologetic Attacker: Dylan gives fair warning to Beka that allows her to dodge an explosion.
- Back from the Dead: Trance is shot and killed by Gerentex, but later comes back to life. According to Harper, this isn't out of character for her.
- Body Horror: Andromeda describes what would have happened to Harper if his case of Triangulum Measles had gone untreated. Basically it would have eaten all his skin until he was nothing but bleached bones.
- Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Gerentex, when he hears that the Andromeda has fired missiles into the black hole."Nothing can affect a singularity! (Oh, Crap! face) Almost nothing..."
- First-Name Basis: At the end of the episode, Beka says they're not saluting Dylan or calling him "captain." He replies "Dylan will be fine."
- Fling a Light into the Future: Dylan decides to become this. With galactic society having fallen apart, he makes it his mission to restore the Commonwealth.
- Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits: At the end of the episode, the crew of Andromeda includes a salvage pilot, a Magog priest, a Nietzschean mercenary, an eccentric engineer, and a mysterious purple alien. And they're off to restore the Systems Commonwealth.
- Rousing Speech: Dylan makes one to convince Beka and her crew to join him.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Two members of Tyr's mercenary crew decide to leave the ship rather than stay. Their escape pod immediately falls into the black hole and is destroyed.
