Finn and Jake take on one of the fiercest enemies they've faced when a powerful ally goes rogue.

Tropes:

  • Behemoth Battle: Finn uses Jake as the Jakesuit to fight on equal ground with Rogue Susan.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • A grown-up version of Sparkle from "BMO Lost" makes a cameo, and it seems he did grow up to be a horse whisperer, as Bubble predicted.
    • Finn uses the Jake Suit to try and subdue Susan.
    • Finn tries to warn Susan against coming in contact with the giant electric eel, as she lacks the immunity to electrocution Finn gained in "Flute Spell" while helping Huntress Wizard
  • Cliffhanger: As the episode ends, Grass Sword detaches from Finn, taking his arm with it, attaches itself to his Finn Sword, and becomes its own independent entity. Also, Susan's implant contacted some sort of transport, which is now on its way.
  • Cross-Referenced Titles: With the previous episode "Preboot".
  • Energy Absorption: Rogue Susan gets blasted by a Gumball Guardian, but absorbs the blast and becomes bigger and stronger from the energy.
  • Mondegreen Gag: When Rogue Susan starts attacking the Candy Kingdom, Bubblegum and a Gumball Guardian have the following excange:
Bubblegum: Okay, I need you guys to stop her, but Susan is our friend so stop her gently.
Gumball Guardian: Stomp her gently. Got it.
Bubblegum: What? No! Just ca… ho… Hmm… Carefully contain!
    Gumball Guardian: Kill train.
  • Non Sequitur, *Thud*: Multiple characters in this episode say "Yabba dabba dabba dabba dabba" after being killed or knocked out.
  • Robo Speak: With her implant active, Susan speaks in a monotone with a subtle flanging effect, and keeps up a commentary on her own actions.
    Energy absorption successful.
  • Running Gag:
    • Birds getting hit in the crossfire of the battle to take down the giant eel.
    • The phrase "Yabba dabba dabba dabba dabba" is said by people who die or are knocked out. This includes the giant electric eel, Rattleballs, and Jake.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Unwilling Roboticisation: Susan's cybernetic implant is reactivated, leading her to capture Finn and try to take him to "our home."
  • The Worf Effect: Rattleballs, the best swordsman in Ooo, tries to take on Rogue Susan and gets demolished in an instant.
