Recap / Adventure Time S 6 E 6 Breezy

Go To

With a friendly bee named "Breezy" as his wingman, Finn decides to get back into the dating game.

  • Amicable Exes: Averted. It is mentioned by Doctor Princess that Finn doesn't talk to Flame Princess anymore, thanks to their messy break-up.
  • Chick Magnet: With Breezy at his side, Finn starts to get all the ladies into him. Unfortunately for him, he's not feeling the love connection with them.
  • Doppelgänger Dating: Jake notes that Frozen Yogurt Princess, one of Finn's dates, looks very similar to both Flame Princess and Princess Bubblegum (and is voiced by Flame Princess' VA, Jessica DiCicco).

  • Emergency Transformation: To save Finn from a bunch of angry bees, Breezy downs some royal jelly to become a Queen Bee.
  • Fantastic Slur: The speciesist bees who are upset about Breezy associating with Finn call him "that bologna tube" and a "wiener", presumably insect insults for mammals.
  • Foreshadowing: Finn's vision of Bubblegum Princess has her holding a white Sword.
  • G-Rated Sex: Implied when Lumpy Space Princess says she wants to go in the "deep end" with Finn as she makes out with him and it fades to black. Exactly what they do is not clear, but the next cut is of the two of them lying near each other as LSP sleeps and Finn looks contemplative.
  • Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places: In a G-rated version, Finn kisses all the princesses in Ooo looking for someone who can reawaken his emotions.

  • The Power of Love: Breezy's love for Finn turns his arm flower into a tree. When he removes the bark, he finds to his delight that his arm has grown back.
  • Questionable Consent: Finn pecks Lumpy Space Princess on the lips, but LSP wanted to swim in the "deep end", not the "kiddie pool", and carries on more than he expected. Cut to a while later and the two of them in separate sleeping bags, with Finn looking somewhat contemplative, and pulling the bedclothes further up over him to cover himself up. He then says that he's putting the whole incident in "the vault". It's unclear just what happened, but it seems to have been exploitative and unsatisfying from Finn's perspective.
  • She Is the King: A non-authority example. Breezy is a female wingman.
  • Stealth Pun: After the above mentioned ambiguous incident with LSP, Finn loses his arm flower. You can say he's been deflowered in more ways than one.

  • Subordinate Excuse: Breezy becomes Finn's wingman because she's in love with his flower. Eventually, she begins to love Finn as well.
  • Transformation Sequence: When she turns into a queen bee, Breezy undergoes a transformation sequence akin to a Magical Girl, particularly Sailor Moon.
  • Wham Episode: Finn's arm is returned to him, though seemingly at the cost of his grass blade.
