Basic Trope: Carrying a lot of weapons on your person.

  • Straight: Alice carries a sword, a bow, a mace and a dagger.
  • Exaggerated: Hyperspace Arsenal
  • Downplayed: Alice carries a sword, a dagger and a wand.
  • Justified:
    • Alice is a soldier, and thus has to carry multiple weapons.
    • Alice has superhuman strength and endurance, so she isn't encumbered in the slightest.
    • Alice is a Magic Knight, and thus carries weapons for both physical and magical attacks.
  • Inverted:
    • Alice carries a single Mix-and-Match Weapon.
    • Alice is a soldier, and thus would be expected to carry multiple weapons, but only carries one.
  • Subverted: Alice carries four weapons, but only her sword is real. The rest are replicas.
  • Double Subverted: The dagger replica is a magical artifact that can be used as a wand, while the axe replica is so heavy it can be used as a blunt weapon.
  • Parodied: Alice's weapons get more absurd as she goes down the list. Her main weapon is a spear. Her fifth weapon? A fish.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted:
    • Every character carries only one weapon.
    • No one uses weapons.
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: "How can you carry that many weapons everywhere you go?"
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: A law is passed that forbids people from carrying more than one weapon at the same time.
  • Discussed: "You should carry more weapons when going on a mission. You need to be prepared for different kinds of threats".
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: Alice gets into a fight offscreen. When she was on screen, only her spear was visible, but when the aftermath of the fight is shown, the enemies she killed have arrows sticking out of them as well as bruises that could only have been made by a blunt weapon.
  • Deconstructed: Alice's posture deteriorates due to the strain of having to carry so much weight on a regular basis.
  • Reconstructed: Alice gets around this problem by carrying only two weapons under regular circumstances, and only carrying all four for the very few missions that absolutely require it.
  • Played for Laughs: ???
  • Played for Drama: Alice needs to take down Bob non-fatally, and tries to disarm him. However, it turns out he has more weapons at hand, and Alice needs to think of a different way to defeat him while already in the thick of things.
