Basic Trope: You can't see your surroundings due to the screen resolution.
- Straight: The Game Boy Advance port of Trope World is noticeably more difficult than the original SNES version due to the smaller screen, resulting in a lot of leaps of faith.
- Alternatively, Trope World Advance is the first GBA game developed by Trope Co. The devs weren't familiar with developing for a smaller screen, so the sprites are unusually big.
- Exaggerated: The HUD is just barely outside the camera, Alice and Bob's sprites take up half the vertical resolution of the screen and every single jump is a Leap of Faith.
- Downplayed: The lower screen resolution is noticeable but gameplay isn't affected much due to the sprites being redrawn.
- Justified:
- Screen Crunch is a Interface Screw.
- Trope World: Lo Res edition is an entry for the 64x64 Jam.
- Subverted: Trope World's levels use small sprites so the devs only had to make minor changes.
- Double Subverted: Unfortunately, they forgot about the boss battles, which are Humongous Mecha battles that use massive sprites.
- Inverted: The resolution is much bigger than what Trope World was made for, so Letterboxing is used to account for that.
- Enforced: The port was originally going to have its sprites redrawn, but the Trope Co suits only wanted this port for a quick buck, so forced it to be out by Christmas.
- Defied: Trope World had small sprites and didn't use the whole screen so this isn't a problem.
- The screen resolution of the two systems is nearly (if not exactly) identical.
- Lampshaded: "Now, if only I could see a little bit further, I might be able to jump to the next platform."
- Zig-Zagged: The port jumps between being perfectly suited to the screen resolution and being too large for it.
- Averted: Trope Co never ports the game or develops games for the GBA.
- Deconstructed: Since Trope World was made to be played on a full-sized television, it's nearly impossible to play on a handheld. This causes people to pan the game and the company loses money.
