Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin is a cover album by American artist Brian Wilson. It features songs originally written by brothers Ira and George Gershwin who are massive inspirations to Brian's work (he already covered some of their songs on his album Orange Crate Art).
This is the first of two albums Brian recorded for Walt Disney Records. He was intially contacted by Disney for a cover album of Disney movie soundtrack songs (In the Key of Disney), which he was interested in, but wanted to make an album dedicated to Gershwin's music first, which Disney accepted. The Gershwin estate even allowed Brian access to partitions of unfinished work by the Gershwin brothers which were finished for this album.
