Dawn of the Mages is the second book in the Science Fantasy trilogy of the same name, written by Charity Bradford and published in November 2017.

The magic has gone loose across the Algodovan empire. In order to calm down the riots and fights over whether mages should or not be allowed to exist freely, Talia and Landry take a team to Jaron's home planet, Orek. The planet, however, has been repopulated, and the new government isn't of the most friendly kind.

Dawn of the Mages contains examples of:

  • The Ageless: The dragons don't seem to age.
  • Demonic Possession: The demon that tried to take control of Jaron during the first book manages to take over Ryce Andre in this one.
  • Dragon Ancestry: According to Jewel, Landry is her descendant, and Talia is a descendant of her husband.
  • Dragons Are Divine: Dragons create planets and fill them with life, and in some of those planets they plant a religion that revolves around themselves.
  • Fighting from the Inside: By the time Ryce realizes the demon isn't on his side, his efforts are already useless.
  • Glamour: Ryce can use Talia's essence to make people agree with him.
  • Idiot Ball:
    • Talia claims Landry can't know what people are thinking... when that's his power's description.
    • Landry leaves the mind-controlling mage with two guards who have no way to defend against him.
  • Power Copying: Landry can use any person's magic by simply touching them.
  • Power Nullifier: Landry blocks Ryce's magic when he tries to manipulate a crowd.
