Blown Away is possibly the greatest, and definitely the last, moving picture made during The Golden Age of Holy Wood. It nearly bankrupted Century of the Fruitbat Moving Pictures to make, but that was just the start of its problems.
Starring Victor Maraschino as Brett Valet and Delores De Syn as Crimson O'Heck, this sweeping love story set against the background of the Ankh-Morpork Civil War broke all box office records, and indeed the box office itself.
Not to be confused with the Roundworld moving picture of the same name. And definitely not with a Roundworld moving picture with a synonymous name.
Tropes found in this click include:
- Interspecies Romance: Somewhat controversially, Crimson's Romantic False Lead is a troll (Tuffaceous, played by Rock Cliffe).
- Our Dwarves Are All the Same: All dwarfs who appear are cheerful workers in the O'Heck family mine. Criticism of this blatant stereotyping was apparently dismissed when Soll Dibbler pointed out most dwarfs are miners.
- Product Placement: Despite the best efforts of producer Soll Dibbler, Century of the Fruitbat mogul CMOT Dibbler managed to fit many advertisements for Harga's House of Ribs into the story (see page quote), including five whole minutes of Subliminal Seduction.
- Trash the Set: The fire that ended the Ankh-Morpork Civil War was recreated at the climax of the click.
- Troubled Production: Although not nearly as troubled as what happened at the premiere.
