- At the party, while all the characters are dancing with their girlfriends, Perry is carrying Joey around on his back and dancing around.
- This movie seems to make a point of drawing unspoken parallels between Perry and Joey and other couples.
- At the end of the movie, Richie gets married to his girlfriend. Joey and Perry run away together. To San Francisco.
- At the beginning of the movie, Richie and Joey both like the same girl. Part of their stories revolve around unsuccessful attempts to court her. Neither of them are successful, and Richie ends up with his girlfriend. If you draw parallels between Joey and Richie's character arcs, Perry is Joey's other love interest.
