    Season 1
  • "Pilot"
    • when Trevor finally knocks the vase over, he and Pete begin jumping for joy.
    • In a small moment, When Sam says she feels a connection with the house, Hetty smiles with pride.
  • "Pete's Wife":
    • How Pete died kind of counts (crossed with Tear Jerker though for obvious reasons). Immediately after being shot, in spite of being in extreme and obvious pain, he manages to remain calm and perky for the sake of the kids still present so they wouldn't be scared. He even went so far as to go behind a shed and tell the kids to stay behind and let him take "a rest" so they wouldn't have to see him die.
    • While it's terrible that Carol and Jerry were having an affair while Pete was still alive, Carol very clearly feels really bad about it and would take it back if she could. When Sam reads the passage about forgiveness from the Pinecone Trooper manual that Pete underlined while he was still alive, Carol very genuinely thanks Sam for telling her that. Afterwards, Carol apologizes to Pete (whom she still doesn't know is standing right next to her) and he forgives her. After all the years since Pete's death, both of them have some degree of closure.
    • At the end, Pete gets to see his now grown daughter and his grandson who is named after him.
  • In "D&D" Jay finally finds a way to both interact with and bond with the ghosts by playing a tabletop RPG.
  • In "Alberta's Fan":
    • Hetty and Thorfinn share a moment when she learns that she saw him as a child, and he'd sung her to sleep every night.
      • Thor singing David, Mark's young son, to sleep with the same fatherly tenderness that he displayed in Hetty's flashback.
    • After the fan gets conclusive proof Alberta was actually poisoned years ago, her music starts trending for a while, gaining a whole new generation of fans.
    • A blink and you'll miss it one: When Todd shows off Alberta's toenail, Trevor holds her arm as she starts freaking out.
  • From "Flower's Article":
    • Ira's nickname for Flower? "Daisy". Why, you ask? Because she was his special "flower".
    • Ira also founded Daisy's Coffee Shop in memory of his late girlfriend, Flower.
  • In "Sam's Mom", Sam and her mother finally make up, and Sam gets to say goodbye before she gets sucked off.
    • Before Sam and Jay take off to see her mom all of the Ghost give her genuine support and good wishes when they learn about her opportunity to see her mom again
  • "Jay's Sister" showcases Trevor's softer side, as evidenced by his goodbye speech to Bela (ignoring the boob comment).
    • The B plot is Pete's "girlfriend" Nancy blackmailing him into standing up for himself with the threat of outing their ruse to the rest of the ghosts. When Pete finally has enough of her bullying him around, he snaps at her in a loud "break up" before daring her to go ahead and revel the secret. She doesn't. Instead, she keeps the ruse and lets him know she's proud of him for sticking up for himself.
  • In "The Vault", Hetty specifically points to Sam and Jay's marriage as an example of what has made her realize how awful Elias was, and what a happy, healthy relationship should look like, with mutual affection and respect, and wives being free to call their husbands on bad behavior.
  • In "Trevor's Pants", instead of letting a coworker do an outdoor run in the freezing cold with just a shirt on, Trevor gives the guy money for a cab, along with his pants and his boxer shorts.
  • In "Attic Girl":
    • Sam and the others decide to organize a prom for Stephanie who passed away on her own prom night.
    • Later, Sam tricks out the attic Stephanie stays in most of the time and gives her a poster of her favorite band, U2.
  • The fact that Hetty, the woman from the Victorian Era, is the most encouraging of Isaac coming out to - and getting with - Nigel.

    Season 2
  • "Spies":
    • Crosses over with tearjerker, Sam kept a bottle of perfume her mom gave her and uses it whenever she wants to feel close to her mom.
    • Sam and Jay have a married couple named Tom and Deby stay at the B&B. After an entire episode of the ghosts relaying every mean thing the couple say to Sam and Jay, Jay finally draws the line when they say that they hate Sam's perfume (the one her dead mom gave her). He tells Tom and Deby that they won't be getting the food he made and then launches into a rant about how amazing Sam is, after which she does the same for Jay.
    • While Nigel is initially put off by Thorfinn, the two of them eventually bond over their shared love of watching ants.
  • "Alberta's Podcast": While Hetty and Flower's subplot is mostly Played for Laughs, there is a sweet moment when Hetty displays genuine shame over having enjoyed "using" the old washing machine. Flower tells her female sexual pleasure is nothing to be ashamed of, and that the idea that women can't or shouldn't masturbate was perpetuated by men in an attempt to control them. She also happily gives Hetty some pointers on how to achieve sexual pleasure on her own after the old washing machine is replaced.
  • "Jay's Friends": Flower learning that her brother survived his deployment to Vietnam, and is still alive. Even better, she finds out because Sam reached out to him to assure him that his little sister died still loving him and missing him, despite the cult she was in isolating her from her family.
  • "The Baby Bjorn" Thorfinn is just about ready to disown his son after finding out he married a Danish woman, but the second he hears his son call him father, something he never got to hear in life, he immediately breaks and tells his son he loves him and he's happy he came all that way to find him.
  • "Dumb Deaths" Pete becomes depressed after realizing his death was in fact partially his fault after messing up giving the kids the bows and arrows before the safety demo, something that is especially troubling to him because being a good scout leader was the one thing he was most proud of in his life, but then when Jay gets injured the scout he taught is able to administer first aid exactly as he taught it to her all those years ago because his teachings were good enough to be remembered. Despite his one fatal hiccup at the end Pete's legacy as a good scout leader endures in the kids he taught.
  • "The Christmas Spirit":
    • Isaac wants to kiss Nigel, but can't due to feeling guilty over his wife, who he believes must have hated him for "trapping" her in a sexless marriage. Later, Sasappis tells Isaac that on the day he died, his wife came to change him into his uniform and spent his last hours with him. This makes Isaac realize that she still loved him and had been happy with him despite their non-standard marriage, which gives him the confidence to finally go over to Nigel and give him a Big Damn Kiss.
    • Thor initially declares he hates Christmas for appropriating elements of Norse traditions, but after accidentally possessing Sam's body, he starts to gradually warm up to the holiday. He is surprised to find out Christmas cookies are delicious, and when he receives a gift (a ship in a bottle), he is clearly touched and admits he loves it.
  • "The Family Business" After being outed for setting up the system failure (with Trevor's help) and pushing Sam to blow up at Freddy, Hetty finally breaks down and opens up about how she regrets having been an absentee mother in life and having to watch her children grow up without her in death, but now she gets a second chance with Sam as her descendant. Sam actually feels the same back, opening up about how she sees Hetty as a second mother figure after her mom's passing and wants to embrace a family relationship with Hetty, but on healthier terms.
  • There are several moments in “Trevor's Body”, from the way everyone bands together genuinely wanting to help Trevor get his parents together, to Jay realizing it's not the best idea but doing it anyway because he realizes how it's also helping Sam deal with her issues about her parent’s divorce, but the biggest is when his parents take the time to explain why they broke up and why it isn't the child's fault for something like that. From their perspective, this kind stranger is being weird about a deeply personal moment of finally getting closure over the death of their son, but they still see how this person means well and is just projecting their own issues, so they take the moment to tell her what she needs to hear, while also humoring her somewhat whimsical (from their perspective, considering they can't see ghosts) belief that their son can hear them to reassure him, despite not knowing that he can. Trevor's little " I want to hug my mom right now" is as heartbreaking as it is sweet.
  • "Ghost Father of the Bride": When Pete's daughter is walking down the aisle at Woodstone, Pete takes his place beside her. Even though he knows she can't feel him, and that touching her will cause him pain, he wraps his arm around hers and powers through the discomfort to the end, outright saying it's Worth It as he does so.

    Season 3
  • "The Owl" When Sam is sad that one of the ghosts was "sucked off", Jay mentions to her that he thought that was what she wanted, to help the ghosts move one to the after-life. Sam agrees to that sentiment, but admits she has come to care for them and she knows she is going to miss the ghosts when they pass on.
    • The Cholera Ghosts are very polite and show only sympathy for the loss of Flower and kindness to everyone else, so much so that they get invited to Flower's memorial service.
    • The tributes to Flower that are given at her memorial service.
    • Thor lets the owl who he believes to be Flower go after agreeing with Sam and Jay that the happy, free-spirited woman would be miserable being trapped in a cage for the rest of her life.
  • "Man of Your Dreams":
    • After Sass shatters Jay's trust by manipulating him with his ghost power, Sass reappears in Jay's dream to sincerely apologize and tell him he truly wants them to be friends. Jay accepts the apology.
  • all through out "Hello Brother" Trevor is so endlessly happy to see his brother, and vocally proud of everything he's doing. The only thing that gets him to disapprove of his brother is the news that he doesn't feel he's good enough to take over the family business
  • “Holes Are Bad”:
    • Ralph is revealed to be the ghost that got sucked off, but it was after declaring that being with Stephanie was the happiest he ever felt.
    • Before Thor can jump down the well in the hopes of guiding Flower through the dirt, Hetty stops him and reveals the telephone wire she used to kill herself so that they can use it to pull Flower out. While Hetty is upset at having to reveal her secret, Sam and Isaac comfort her while Flower thanks Hetty for saving her.
