  • In "Halloween 3: The Guest Who Wouldn't Leave," just before the ghosts realize Carol is now a ghost, Hetty can briefly be seen dancing "the twist."
  • Jay gets possessed by Hetty for an episode and we get to see Utkarsh Ambudkar doing a pitch-perfect recreation of Rebecca Wisocky's performance.
  • When Trevor wants to know how hot the maid is that Hetty's husband used to have sex with, Sasappis and Thorfinn who are standing behind Hetty silently respond with very hot.
  • When Hetty remembers how one time she and some friends did a seance and it seemed to connect to the other world with the lights flickering and a putrid smell appeared, she quickly realizes mid-sentence that Thorfinn and Isaac were the ones doing it and messing with her and the other livings of the era.
  • In a shout out to Friends, when Isaac and Nigel argue about Nigel "congressing" with his former lover, Jenkins, Nigel argues that they on a "respite."
  • Thorfinn complains that Christmas appropriated Viking traditions, but after possessing Sam (BTW, props to Rose for her Thorfinn!Sam), he finds out about the special foods (especially Christmas cookies) and other traditions and he warms up to the holiday.
  • The ghosts leave a chilling, horror-movie-worthy message for Jay on his bathroom mirror: “SHE LIED”. Cheered by their success, they try again at the end of the episode, with somewhat less sinister results: “MAKE PIZZA”.
  • Alberta tries to get Flower to open up about her guilt over not reconciling with her brother when she was in a cult, something she's only made allusions to in the first part of the episode. She tells Alberta it's personal and that she doesn't want to talk about it. Alberta agrees, phases through the door.....and then immediately phases back out again, asking once more. Flower doesn't remember she JUST talked to Alberta and she happily agrees to talk right away.
  • Isaac isn't sure what to call him and Nigel now that they are in a relationship. Sasappis suggests murderer and victim since Isaac accidentally killed Nigel.
  • In "Farnsby & B", Thorfinn reveals that he put a Viking curse on the house, which caused all the bad things to happen. When asked how to reverse it, he mentions that it requires nearly unobtainable ingredients: sugar (an ENTIRE pound!!) and a spice that is so rare a pinch was worth thirty horses: cinnamon.
  • After Elias is Dragged Off to Hell, complete with a Hell portal opening in the middle of the floor, Hetty wonders if she somehow did it... and decides to test it out by telling Trevor to "go to Hell." Cue all the ghosts screaming and jumping away, expecting another portal to open.
Trevor: WHY WOULD YOU PICK ME?!
  • The Owl:
    • The season 3 premiere picks up where the season 2 finale left off. Sam sees a white light, realizes one of the ghosts has moved on to the afterlife and frantically runs into the house to see who it was. An equally frantic Jay, who can't even see ghosts, follows, running into the kitchen.
Jay: "I can't see ghosts, why did I run into the kitchen?!"
    • Pete calls for a headcount after hearing the news:
    • Sam using Flower's mugshot for the latter's memorial service as it was the only picture of Flower that she could find online.
  • In "He Sees Dead People," as Sass and Henrietta are looking at her "scandalous" portrait (showing her ankle in 1875), Nancy walks by and casually remarks, "Nice ankle, ya whore!" Doubly funny, since the last cholera outbreak in New York was in 1866.
  • In "Hello, Brother," Isaac sees a pop-up book and toy dinosaur and has to be convinced, by Sass of all people, that they actually were real; (they were first discovered in the 1800s). When he asks about unicorns:
    'Sass: (deadpan) Very real
    Issac: (whispering) I knew it!!
