  • In the opening scene, the Killer internally complains about not doing much "proximity work"... as in rarely getting to do assassinations that look like accidents.
The Killer: When was the last time I had a nice, quiet drowning?
  • The Accidental Murder itself can be seen as a hysterical Epic Fail. We've spent over twenty minutes with the Killer, listening to his narration flaunt himself as a patient, philosophical, methodical assassin. When he spots his target, he lines up the sight, continuing to narrate in a way that seems on its way to cement him as cinema's next badass Professional Killer... then the target's dominatrix steps in the way just as the Killer pulls the trigger, killing the wrong person and alerting his target and his security personnel to his presence. This isn't a poetic badass after all, this is just a pretentious fuck-up.
  • As the Killer flees from the police:
The Killer: WWJWBD - what would John Wilkes Booth do?
    • Which takes on an additional level of humour when you realise that John Wilkes Booth is a terrible role model to have as an assassin, as despite being successful in his murder of Abraham Lincoln, Booth only made it twelve days before the authorities caught up to him.
  • The Killer grows paranoid about his chances of getting out of France, and at one point retreats into a bathroom where he mentally reminds himself to calm down. Then he ends his self-pep talk by looking at himself in the mirror and disingenuously smiling:
    The Killer (brightly): Hey.
  • The Suspiciously Apropos Music that plays as the Killer is preparing for his visit to Hodges in the aftermath of the brutal attack on Magdala: "Girlfriend in a Coma."
  • The Killer narrates that he owns six storage units across the United States, and that he likes to imagine that one day when the automatic funding eventually dries up an episode of Storage Wars where they cut the lock on one of his units and their reactions when they discover it loaded with weapons, ammo and other equipment.
  • Hodges's death, while also Nightmare Fuel, becomes this when the Killer predicts that he has six to seven minutes to drown in his own blood... only to realize that Hodges had died while he was thinking this.
    The Killer:...Shit.
  • The Killer's constant philosophical monologuing getting abruptly interrupted by the Brute tackling him is in itself pretty funny (particularly given he's interrupted right as he's talking about "anticipating everything").
    • This also happens at the beginning of the film, where The Killer is almost discovered after he's interrupted mid-narration by the mailman. It's a very early indicator that while The Killer may indeed be a professional assassin, he's also a guy so stuck up his own ass that he's regularly caught off-guard by even the most simple things, despite his claims of "anticipating everything".
  • While fighting the Brute, the Killer tries a go at an Improvised Weapon by pulling something out of a kitchen drawer... only to find that he'd grabbed a cheese grater.
  • The implications that despite being fully willing to go toe to toe with a guy twice his size (and later proves to be jacked enough to punch several holes in his walls), the Killer is afraid of having to fight his pit bull. Considering the dog proves to be The Juggernaut by smashing through the glass of a door to pursue the Killer, he might've been right to be afraid.
  • The Killer's amazement at the accuracy of Leo's description of The Expert.
The Killer: Leo said she looked like a q-tip... he wasn't that far off.
  • When the Killer finally confronts the Client, the guy is in the middle of a phone call. Seeing the stranger with a gun, the Client awkwardly tries to end the call, eventually resorting to just outright hanging up when the person on the other phone insists on staying on the line.
