• Hide and Tokichiro meet a rampaging Kamaitachi darting from tree to tree, Tokichiro is fully confident he can handle it on his own, trying to coax it out like a house pet. Hide's sigh and amused expression say it all. When it does come down, he realizes he may have bitten off more than he can chew. Hide nudges their head to him as if to say "Well, what are you waiting for?" before Tokichiro sheepishly shoves them in as a ringer.
  Tokichiro: Good luck!
• When Tokichiro drags Hide with him to brazenly interrupts Nobunaga's Noh performance to be granted the unified name Yoshihide, he accepts, bemused, only setting the condition that the characters in the name are switched. Even among eccentrics Nobunaga was an oddity.
• Magoichi misaims a shot at an unsuspecting Hide when Hakutaku suddenly appears next to them and startles him, causing the bullet to go right through Hakutaku instead, who casually complains as if his back ached.
  Hakutaku: Hm... That stings a bit...
  • Even after fighting Magoichi, Hakutaku still complains about the bullet.
• At a meeting with Mitsuhide and Sen no Rikyu, Mumyo tries the tea Rikyu has served and promptly Spit Takes everywhere at the taste. When Rikyu places a bowl down in front of the protagonist a moment later, they swiftly slide it over to Nekomata, who isn't any more motivated to try it. Bonus points since Sen no Rikyū was historically the tea master who raise the tea ceremony to an artform.
• William's response when Hide begins to wake up in the final act as the seal on Otakemaru begins to fail, revealing their glowing red eyes and looking all the world like they're ready to rip William's face off, is a deadpan "Not a morning person, then?"
• When meeting your untimely end in-game, you are presented with a small summary of just how you shuffled off this mortal coil, usually along the lines of "Burned to Death" or "Poisoned to Death." But few things are as darkly amusing as when you die to one of the many Spider enemies:
  "Beaten to death by Spider"
  • Tesso can potentially fart on you to death, which will read "died tragically at the hands of Tesso."
• Rolling boulder traps overlooking lootable bodies is nothing new, but there is exactly one instance where there is a skeleton with a second boulder waiting for you to try and exact revenge on getting tricked by the first one. Mean spirited? Absolutely, but comically overkill nonetheless.
