  • The opening of the film has Linus attempt to sled down a hill in a cardboard box and run into a variety of issues.
    • Sally joins him for the first attempt, but chickens out due to how steep the hill looks and climbs out of the box. This motion causes the box to flip forward and Linus to fall out a few feet down the hill. Sally comments that she would've stayed home if she'd known they'd only be going that far.
    • Linus proclaims that he's putting the box in "fast-forward" for the second attempt, only for it to slide backwards and land on top of him at the bottom of the hill.
    • The third attempt has Linus actually travel a sizable distance in the direction he wants to go, only for the way down to be so bumpy that he eventually bounces out of the box. Said box lands on top of a tree Sally and Lucy are admiring.
Lucy: I think they look better when they have a little star, or an angel on top.
  • Charlie Brown goes from door to door selling Christmas wreaths and doesn't have a lot of luck:
    • When he knocks on Violet's door, she reveals that he's trying to sell Christmas wreaths before Thanksgiving and that the wreath will have dried out by the time it's Christmas. Undeterred, Charlie Brown tells her not to hang the wreath by the turkey and gets the door slammed in his face.
    • He attempts to sell a wreath to Patty (not Peppermint), who also tells him it isn't Thanksgiving yet. Charlie Brown immediately pivots to trying to sell her a Thanksgiving wreath and gets the door slammed on him again.
    • When Charlie Brown rings Franklin's doorbell, Franklin asks him if he's aware that selling Christmas wreaths this early is contributing to the over-commercialization of Christmas. Charlie Brown replies "Not 'til I sell one!"
    • Charlie Brown only gets as far as saying he has a Christmas wreath before Frieda snatches it out of his hands and thanks him, thinking it's a free sample, before slamming the door in his face.
    • After yet another attempt where Charlie Brown gets a door slammed on him, he wishes the unseen person "Merry Christmas, anyway" before quoting the end of A Christmas Carol.
    • Sally decides to help her brother out with trying to sell wreaths, leading to further hilarity:
      • The first house Sally visits has her claim the wreaths were made in the forests of Lebanon and that if they buy two, they'll throw in a signed photo of King Solomon for free. Afterward, Charlie Brown tells her off for lying about where the wreaths are from.
      • At the second house they visit, Sally asks the resident if they really want to buy "a Christmas wreath made from some junky old branches my brother found in a Christmas tree lot". Sally then refers to the brutally honest/excessively pessimistic approach as her brother's way of doing things and gripes about it not working either.
      • Sally muses to Snoopy that they need a better way of showing off their product, leading to her ringing doorbells while Snoopy has the wreath hung on his snout.
  • Peppermint Patty calls Marcie to ask what book she's supposed to read during Thanksgiving vacation, only for Marcie to reveal it's already Christmas vacation. When Peppermint Patty gripes about this, Marcie dryly tells her to duck because Easter is coming.
  • Marcy joins in the standing during the hallelujah chorus of Handel's "Messiah". However, she stands on top of her foldable seat instead of the ground, causing her to get flipped backwards into her seat when it refolds.
  • One scene focuses Snoopy taking up a post outside a store while wearing a Santa costume and the amusing reactions of the kids as they walk by.
    • Lucy and Violet walk by Snoopy ringing a bell and gripe about having to hear the bell whenever they go that way for the foreseeable future. When Violet asks if he could "do something else besides ringing a bell", Snoopy pulls out a horn. When Lucy walks by again with Linus, she tells him to ignore the Santa Claus because there's nothing he can do to them; Snoopy proceeds to startle them by honking the horn. Lucy then confronts Snoopy about not being the real Santa Claus, to which he honks the horn in her face and sends her hat flying.
    • Sally calls a costumed Snoopy's status as the real Santa into question by asking where his helpers are, resulting in three of the Beagle Scouts walking by while carrying picket signs that read "HELP". An unamused Sally deems the sight "the dumbest thing I've ever seen."
  • Peppermint Patty is worried about forgetting her lines for the play, despite only having one unique line and playing a sheep.
Marcie: You're a sheep, sir. You say "Baa".
  • Peppermint Patty walks to the theater while wearing her sheep costume, resulting in her tripping over a sidewalk curb she couldn't see.
  • Once the play starts, Peppermint Patty gets nervous enough about forgetting her line that she keeps saying it out loud during other scenes. She says it enough and at sufficient volume during the scene where Gabriel speaks with Mary that Gabriel (played by Franklin) eventually has to tell Mary "I couldn't hear you because of the sheep."
  • While going over her scene for the play, Sally mentions a part where "herald angel starts to sing". Charlie Brown (and later Linus) questions the statement's phrasing, but she insists it's like that in the script. In the aftermath of Sally's disastrous performance in the play, Charlie Brown gripes on the phone about Sally constantly mixing things up, including thinking that someone named Herald Angel was going to sing. He then goes to answer the door and finds a boy asking about Sally's whereabouts who introduces himself as Harold Angel.
