Fridge / There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension

Fridge Brilliance

  • The whole reason Game can't work properly is because he has no gameplay, meaning the interface doesn't work and the game can't actually be played. From his game, to the other games, to his creator's computer, what's the common factor that forces you to mess with everything to progress? There's no interface! Game breaks the systems just by being there, so we can't use the controls. Case in point; the minigames from the musical section need improvised controls because the keyboard and mouse can't interface due to Game unintentionally breaking them.

  • After destroying the metal title, the words shown change from "There is no game" to "Here is game". Later, it is revealed that the name of the narrator that keeps talking to us and commenting on the user's actions is "Game". The title is Foreshadowing, and meant "Here is Game".

  • While in the Sherlock Holmes game, Watson is the only one who's smart enough to grasp the implications of what Game tells them about their reality being fake. He's also the only one who actually does anything; Holmes mostly just provides exposition. Why? Simple - as with many Holmes-related games, Watson is the player character! Of course he has greater autonomy than Holmes; he's the one who was supposed to be doing everything!

  • At the stinger after the end, when we see the Hero and Princess on the Free 2 Play ending screen, all of the other Games are unable to understand them, this is because they all came from the other language files, they literally can't. They can't even process the dialogue text, instead reacting to the sound effects made note

  • Why do the Creator and his Game have the same voice? Because he used his own voice as a placeholder during development, and the failed Kickstarter meant the placeholders stayed in place.

    • On that note, the Creator and his Game have similar backstories - they both lost someone important to them - the programmer and her Global Gameplay system, repectively - in the same incident that kicked off the entire plot. And potentially the programmer was also the placeholder voice for the Global Gameplay system.

  • After getting the instructions for the disenchantment ritual, Game mutters "We're screwed". Afterward, when the User unscrews the mouth, Game sarcastically gives the User "the award for unscrewer of the year". It's the User who has to find a way to improvise a formula for the ritual.

  • Why is claiming that Game has a Russian accent Game's Berserk Button? It's because it isn't really a Russian accent, but rather a French accent, since the Creator is French.
    • Hilariously, the only versions of Game that are voiced by Pascal himself are the English and French versions of the program. Definitely not the Russian.

  • In both this game and the flash game, the narrator suggests asking for a refund before taking the statement back- in the original game, it's because you didn't pay for the game so you can't get your money back, but since you actually do have to pay for Wrong Dimension and so could legitimately ask for a refund, Game begs you not to by saying the creator needs the money to support his family (that he doesn't have yet). The creator really does need money, due to his failed Kickstarter. That's why there is no game; he couldn't afford to make it.

  • Every time Mr. Glitch explains his Evil Plan, something prevents Game and the User from hearing it. The first time it happens, the interference takes at least a minute or two to clear, but every interference after that lasts for a few seconds if the interruption isn't the end of the discussion. When you think about it, it makes sense that Mr. Glitch would've spent more time discussing his Evil Plan than the times after that; he was explaining future technology to Holmes and Watson during that time, and wouldn't need to do so during subsequent explanations.

Fridge Horror

  • Why does everything seem to glitch out starting from the end of chapter 1 throughout the rest of the game? Simply because Game is bugged without Gigi, thus the screen flickers that occur in chapters 2, 5, and 6 are because of his presence. The items that the bug fragment can be used on in chapter 2, the hammer and monocle in chapter 3, and the Yes buttons after being clicked on during chapter 6note  are bugged because of Game. He's basically a virus without intention.

  • While Mr. Glitch's plan is never really stated, hearing what happens in the second half of chapter 6 can really imply that Mr.Glitch is either trying to cause mass destruction via technology or reduce the world into a state of anarchy.
    • Also given that the smart vacuum cleaner that the Creator deals with is chasing him and when he beats said vacuum, the hose is wrapped around his neck. It really can imply his life was being threatened which only supports the idea that Mr. Glitch was trying to kill humanity.
      • Given that Mr. Glitch had escaped into reality due to the user's results only makes this sound a lot more serious.

Game: Your conscience is telling you that you're a good friend of the environment. You are going to turn off your machine to save electricity. And save humanity.

    • And what's the point of it all? What's Mr. Glitch's reasoning? There probably isn't any! Just as a Minus World isn't necessarily beatable, a sapient glitch's thought processes probably aren't going to make much sense.
