Fridge / Poison Berry in My Brain

Go To

Fridge Brilliance

  • Why does Ichiko's brain have both male and female council members? Well, every woman has some testosterone in them besides estrogen.
    • Ishibashi represents positivity and happiness. Dopamine is a happiness hormone. Testosterone regulates dopamine and dopamine regulates testosterone.
    • Related to that, Hatoko is the one who loves comfort from Saotome the most. Oxycontin, also known as the "Cuddle Hormone", was considered a female hormone.
    • Ikeda is represented as sadness and negativity. One major stress hormone released from the body via tears, Prolactin, is found in much higher concentration in women's bodies than in men's.
  • Why does Hatoko get along with both Ikeda and Ishibashi? The present impulse is represented as a child, easily influenced by what a person is feeling at the moment. Impulse can run along with positivity or negativity, depending on the situation.
  • Note Ikeda's increasingly haggard appearance when Ishibashi (positivity) disappears. Basically, Ikeda (negativity) essentially is forced to work overtime in the brain.

Fridge Horror

  • For some people, their depression just goes into limbo. That raises some questions about how often their positivity comes and goes...
  • If an elderly Ichiko were to undergo Alzheimer's, what sort of problems would Kishi go through, being represented as an elderly man himself? What would happen to the memory book? What glitches would happen in the system?
  • What if Ichiko really did go through her suicide plan? What would happen to the six members within that her head?! Will they pass on too, or simply just vanish? And what will happen to the brain's command center as well as the surrounding structures outside? Will those suffer the same fate too?
  • How negatively would the council members (especially the female-presenting ones) be affected by Ichiko's menstrual cycle?

Fridge Logic

  • We know that the Mysterious Woman appears and takes complete control of the brain whenever Ichiko wants to have sex, but would the same circumstances happen as easily/severely if she were to simply masturbate instead?
  • What's inside a man's (i.e. Saotome and Oichi) head? Gender Flipped versions of Ichiko's little people? Or does a head person's gender has no impact on the person it belongs to (ignoring the above)?
