- Furuya canonically never got his dues until he really lost the game in Act 2. Here, Furuya learned early on what he was supposed to do and learn.
- Miyuki is the biggest example. An Ineffectual Loner who loves baseball so much that his future self was jealous of others for playing fell in love with a man who cares, loves, and knows him. A man who is just as crazy for baseball as he is. The future Miyuki loves baseball but he wants to share baseball with the man he loves to the point he will take a surgery that could potentially take his life.
- Closet Key: Downplayed. It’s unknown what Future Sawamura identified as, but he certainly didn’t hate his true feelings for Miyuki (though he whined why couldn’t it be Chris instead). Miyuki slowly realized his feelings and confirmed his sexuality when he noticed that Kuramochi’s gravure mags didn't do anything for him.
- Determinator: Future Sawamura will do what it takes for Miyuki and Seidou to have their happy Koshien and give Miyuki everything for his heart and peace of mind. Alt Miyuki, a man in love and full of renewed purpose and life, will make sure the man he loves get back their skills and moreover give him his heart. No matter who Sawamura is now, he knows this is still the man he adores and loves.
- Everyone Can See It: Downplayed. If people really look at Sawamura and Miyuki's relationship, they can see that the pair only have eyes for each other in both baseball and romantic. Everyone knows the two are close to the point they knew Miyuki will go to the hospital after Sawamura's injury.
- High-School Sweethearts: Sawamura and Miyuki in the new timeline. On the other timeline, they never were this. In the new timeline, Kuramochi implied that the two were either together or already by the following year. Considering it took Miyuki just a few months to fall for Sawamura, it's not surprising that Sawamura would have the same trajectory.
- In Spite of a Nail: Sawamura intended to change Miyuki and the Seidou baseball team's fate. But for every change, there are things that remain the same
- Miyuki’s injury still happened albeit earlier and thankfully was not Career-Ending Injury. However, Miyuki choose to use that time to help Sawamura.
- Alternate Miyuki chose to go to college willingly while Future Miyuki only went to college as the only option he had left due to his Career-Ending Injury. Alt Miyuki went there to draw out time until he can become a professional baseball player because he wanted to spend a long time with his beloved partner.
- Official Couple: While the Future Sawamura and Miyuki never got together officially but are in love with each other, it's hinted that all versions of Miyuki and Sawamura will end up together.
- Outliving One's Offspring: In the original timeline, Miyuki and his dad never made up so...yeah... For the new timeline, Sawamura made sure they have communication when he could just find a way for them to talk.
- Parents as People: Miyuki and his dad have been distant since Miyuki’s mom died. In the old timeline, they never recovered as Miyuki’s dad ended up being the last survivor of the immediate family. In the new timeline, Sawamura interfered so he texted the baseball game time for Miyuki’s dad for them to give some sense of talking or at the least understanding. It’s hinted in the far future, Miyuki intended to introduce Sawamura as his boyfriend to his dad, implying they fixed their fractured relationship.
- Peggy Sue: Future Sawamura found himself on his first day back at Seidou after the funeral. After that, he began to work to change history.
- Secret-Keeper: Furuya, Haruichi, and Chris knew Sawamura and Miyuki are together in some fashion. It's implied Kuramochi found out at least some months later.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: For Future Miyuki, he wanted to play for Sawamura so he took surgery that later killed him.
- Together in Death: In the last scene for Future Sawamura and Miyuki, they reunited in the afterlife. It seemed like Miyuki was waiting for Sawamura.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Snacks-wise, Miyuki loves Every Burger Chocolates and Pocari Sweat while Sawamura loves orange ramune.
- Unresolved Sexual Tension: The sequel showcases the romance more as per
Word of God more romance focused than its predecessor which is more character driven and while it does have its romance, it’s more speckled rather than continuous.
