- Adaptational Badass: Preston Cole cheated death at the Battle of Psi Serpentis and has been promoted to Fleet Admiral.
- Alternate Universe: Besides being a crossover with Halo and Star Wars, Halo itself has deviated from canon.
- Reach never falls to the Covenant and actually holds against the alien onslaught. Its used by the UNSC to mobilize forces for war against the Republic.
- Admiral Cole survives the Battle of Psi Serpentis and is now commanding major fleet actions against the Republic.
- Humanity is able to reverse engineer Covenant Tech quicker, resulting in many UNSC ships having energy shields during the late war era battles and slightly evening the odds in their favour.
- Humanity begins interstellar colonization in 2134 in this story, compared to the canonical 2310 when the first colony ships were unveiled. This gives humanity several extra centuries to build up.
- Curbstomp Battle:
- The Master Chief cuts through the crew and defenders of Tarkin's Star Destroyer with ease.
- The initial invasion of Taris for the UNSC, utterly devasting the initial defenders.
- Kinetic Weapons Are Just Better: Played with
- On one hand, the fic shows that UNSC MA Cs outrange and outperform even the longest range of Republic Weapons. UNSC firearms are also extremely deadly especially in the confines of space stations, cutting through plastoid armour with ease.
- However, it is shown that Republic Turbolaser weaponry, especially when in close range, proved deadly to UNSC warships, out performing UNSC Secondary Coilguns in a straight-up broadside battle.
- Ludicrous Gibs:
- Aayla Secura's leg hangs onto her body by a thread after being shot by the Master Chief.
- There are numerous descriptions of dismemberment and gore as a result of combat.
- Macross Missile Massacre: The UNSC still shows their love of missiles.
Tarkin: Truly barbaric…Put all power into the shields and defensive weapons, we mustn’t let them hit us!
Cue one UNSC battleship launching a thousand missiles.

- Quantity vs. Quality: UNSC ships are generally able to tank more shots and outshoot their Republic counterparts. That being said, the Republic can afford to throw more ships at the UNSC to the point that 5 times the superior range in weaponry could mean little.
- Urban Warfare: UNSC and Republic forces fight over the ecumenopolis of Taris
- War Fic: The fic focuses on the war between the UEG/CIS coalition and the Galactic Republic
- We Have Reserves: While the Republic may have had inferior equipment and doctrine, the UNSC does acknowledge that the Republic has one key advantage: Raw Numbers. Especially in warships, the Republic could build as many warships in a day equal to what the UNSC could manage in a month. This advantage means that the UNSC still has to pick and chose its battles and not contest the entire Republic.
