The difference between a bandit lord and King was the adherence to a just law. Punishment had to befit the crime and no man, lord or peasant, should be given impartial favor over another. As King of Britain, the Once and Future King, she would be damned to allow a Wyrm to burn a child alive.

Author's Summary

She Who Wields the Holy Sword is a fanfic by Dellian. It is a crossover between the Nasuverse and 'Worm.

Around the time of the beginning of Worm, Artoria Pendragon, the King of Knights, appears on the world of Earth Bet for unknown reasons and happens to appear right on time to intervene in Taylor Herbert's first fight with Lung.

She Who Wields the Holy Sword contains examples of:

  • Achievements in Ignorance: Saber's lack of realization as to what the White Supremacists are leads her to declare that she'll possible join up with them when Piggot keeps her waiting as a power play, leading to many hasty concessions on Piggot's part in order to prevent her from (seemingly) joining with Empire 88.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Saber's fight with Lung is this, with her inflicting dozens of injuries that would otherwise have killed him if not for his healing factor, effortlessly dodges almost of all his attacks, and is able to effortlessly overpower him until the very end of their fight, and even then she only has to put in a modicum of effort.
    • The Slaughterhouse Nine do not fare any better, suffering a near-Total Party Kill at her hands even with Jack having a second trigger. Near, because Bonesaw was a portal away.
  • Dramatic Irony: Saber, not familiar with the term "White Supremacists", initially assumes them to be an order of monks and diplomats who value negotiation above all else. At one point she even muses that they could helped to resolve the tensions in her kingdom stemming from its various ethnic minorities. Anyone who knows what the White Supremacists and Empire 88 actually are can immediately see the issue there.
  • Fish out of Water: Saber is this, as her only experience with the modern day comes from her brief time in the Holy Grail Wars in the Nasuverse Earth. In Earth Bet, she mistakes parahuman powers for some kind of magecraft, and her lack of experience leads to some comical misunderstandings.
  • Hope Spot: Villainous variant, right after the Slaughterhouse Nine have been demolished by Saber, and Jack Slash is stewing in rage and frustration, he undergoes a Second Trigger that would give him the ability to fully manipulate Saber in the same manner as he does Parahumans. Just as he's about to utter the words that would allow him to claim victory, Saber stomps his face with her boot, killing him.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Alexandria and Eidolon have a variation of this after the Slaughterhouse Nine are all eliminated except for Bonesaw. The reason being that they intentionally let them be despite their atrocities out of the belief that the Nine could be useful in the fight against Scion. So the fact that they've all been eliminated by Saber means that they have nothing to show for their decision except for tens of thousands of innocent deaths and truckloads of misery and suffering.
  • Worf Effect: Lung is one of the most powerful capes, having been shown to be almost unbeatable when fully ramped up. So the fact that Saber is able to completely dominate him even in his fully draconic form firmly establishes just how far above the capes of Earth Bet she is.
