aka: SOEL Marvelous Future

Suzuhara Sakura always wanted to be a hero like the Eva pilots, or Captain Marvel, or Stargirl, or even her English teacher Billy Batson. One mistake seems to show how silly that dream is, until a strange man tells her that she is indeed worthy. Now she'll become empowered by some of the greatest heroines in history and join the legacy of the Marvel Family whenever she says SHAZAM!

Superwomen of Eva: Legacies: Marvelous Future by Cody Fett is part of the Superwomen of Eva: Legacies series. It stars Sakura Suzuhara as Miss Marvel.

Tropes:

  • Ascended Extra: While Sakura became this in the Rebuild of Evangelion films proper later on, these stories occur during the point of the canon Evangelion timeline(s) where she was (except for a couple of scenes) hospital-bound because of the collateral damage caused by Shinji's first sortie.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: As usual, "SHAZAM!".
  • Cut Lex Luthor a Check: Subverted. Dr. Sivana has gone legit, and his company is the one that built the Jet Alone robot.
  • Evil Laugh: Dr. Sivana still indulges in this trope, despite being a legitimate businessman when we first see him.
  • Flying Brick: Sakura's Marvel Family power set.
  • Legacy Character: Sakura, to the entire Marvel Family.
  • Lighter and Softer: And with a bit of four-color, Underdog-style Camp, as well. This was a deliberate trope by the author, by the way.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: So long as Sakura says the magic word.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: A fairly literal example. Sakura makes an incorrect assumption about where the hatch on the Jet Alone will be. As a result, she plows straight through the armor, needlessly setting off the self destruct mechanism and making an already bad situation worse.
  • Older Alter Ego: Miss Marvel to Sakura, of course.
  • Shared Universe: Part of the Legacies universe. Her actions influence those of various other superwomen and are influenced by the actions of said superwomen (to the point that various sequences are presented as The Rashomon).
  • Shout-Out: The artifact that grants Sakura her powers has an inscription on it that's very similar to a certain magic hammer.
  • Thinking Out Loud: Sakura narrates for herself a lot, in the style of Golden and Silver Age comic books. She's especially prone to doing it while she's Miss Marvel.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Dr. Sivana invokes this trope, swearing vengeance upon the Marvel Family once more after Miss Marvel throws the Jet Alone robot into outer space, saving the day but destroying years of his work.
