SAVETHEM
(stylized as S-A-V-E-T-H-E-M) is a Crossover Fan Fic between Lonely Wolf Treat and Syrup and the Ultimate Sweet (both made by NomnomNami) by Hlgd3 on Archive of Our Own.
The plot is inspired by Five Nights at Freddy's and takes place a few months after Lucky Number Moxie in a universe where the Syrup Ending in SATUS is canon. Juju takes up the job of night guard in the newly reopened sister location of Atelier Sweets in Frosting to protect the other rabbits after a mysterious accident that happened months prior, but soon discovers she's not alone...
This fic provides examples of the following tropes:
- Adaptational Protagonist: Juju is made the protagonist of the story instead of Treat, Mochi or Moxie.
- Adaptational Villainy: There's an implication that upon learning customers want to see Gumdrop in the sister location, Syrup came up with the idea of making another candy golem to put it there...and ended up using Treat, Mochi and Moxie for it.
- Body Horror: The candy golems Juju runs into are described as looking very wrong.
- Cassandra Truth: When Juju goes to try and open the basement door with the store's cashier after her first shift, it doesn't budge. He wonders why she would want to do that if what she saw is true, and Juju snaps that they won't believe her, then storms off.
- Cutting Off the Branches: The synopsis sets this story after the Syrup Ending in SATUS.
- Face–Monster Turn: Treat and Mochi turn into hostile creatures after becoming candy golems. The reason for this is explained by Pastille, they don't have a soul like Gumdrop because Syrup only used alchemy to create them, with no magic.
- The Soulless: Based on what Pastille says, The candy golems that Syrup tried to make lack a soul unlike Gumdrop because Pastille was able to give her one with his magic, whereas Syrup merely made them with no magic whatsoever.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Juju decides to team up with Trick despite her hatred of wolves because they're looking for Treat and she's looking for Mochi.
- Was Once a Man: Treat and Mochi (and possibly Moxie as well) have been turned into candy golems.
- Wham Shot: The very end of the first chapter: Juju spots a strange figure on her job, and it looks like her cousin Mochi.
