This fic contains examples of the following tropes:
- Attack Reflector: During their fight, Sakura uses the Loop to reverse one of Shina's wind attacks back at her.
- Big Bad: Amatsu-Mikaboshi is the one driving the plot, seeking to destroy Amaterasu and shroud the world in eternal darkness.
- Blow You Away: Shina, the goddess of wind, can perform such feats as Razor Wind and create vacuums, the latter of which she uses to snuff out Syaoran's fire attacks and nearly suffocate him.
- Birthday Episode: The first chapter of the fic is set on Sakura's fifteenth birthday.
- Close-Call Haircut: In chapter 4, one of Shina's Razor Wind attacks trims a few hairs off of Sakura and Syaoran's heads.
- Detect Evil: In chapter 1, Sakura and Syaoran are able to sense right away that there's an evil presence at the Tsukimine Shrine.
- Faux Affably Evil: Shinatobe casually chats with Sakura and Syaoran, calmly asking them to "die for her." The fact that she asks them to do so as calmly and casually as asking them a favor completely freaks the two out. As it turns out, Shina wasn't actually evil, just Brainwashed and Crazy.
