Fanfic / Amity and the Last Wish

Go To

Amity and the Last Wish is an AU of The Owl House, with elements of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. In it, the witch Wilfred Blight managed to find a wishing star and make a wish that all of his descendants would have two extra lives if they suffered any demise other than one brought forth by old age. Now, Amity Blight is on her last life, and seeks out the star in the hopes of restoring what she'd lost with its last wish.

Amity and the Last Wish contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Villainy: The Emerald Entrails take the role of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, with Willow as Goldi, and Gus, Hunter, and Skara as the Bears.
  • All Deaths Final: The Wishing Star, for all its power, cannot revive the dead once they've passed. Wilfred's wish for two extra lives for every member of his family seems to only work because it keeps the soul from passing on until the body is healed.
  • Composite Character: Several Owl House characters get fused with characters from The Last Wish, like Amity with Puss, Luz with Kitty, etc.
  • The Last of His Kind: After Edric and Emira's lost their last lives, Amity becomes the last Blight.
  • Never Be Hurt Again: A variant, upon reaching the Star too late to save his wife, Wilfred Blight wished instead for every member of his family, by blood or by marriage, to have two extra lives, allowing them an extra two chances at life if they die from any other fate save old age, so that none of them would suffer the loss he did when his wife died.
  • Selfless Wish: Wilfred Blight sought the star to save his beloved wife, who was dying from a mysterious ailment. Upon failing to reach the Star in time, he instead wished that each member of family could get a second and third chance if they died of any fate save old age (even specifying that members who married into the family would get the benefit of the wish too), so that none of them would have to experience the loss that he did.
  • You Are Too Late: Wilfred Blight sought the star to save his wife, but by the time he reached her it was too late, as she was already dead and beyond the star's power to revive.
