    Rogue One
  • Chirrut Îmwe, the blind spiritual monk of the Rogue team, became beloved by the fandom for his combat prowess and spirituality. While the heroes in the Star Wars universe can beat up stormtroopers, only Chirrut can boast of repeatedly curb-stomping entire squads while blind and armed with only a humble staff. Also, his reverence for the force, sense of humor, and idealism helped preserve the idealistic fantasy spirit of the franchise in the darker and more realistic film.
  • K-2SO has become a fast fan-favorite due to his Servile Snarker demeanour and badass combat prowess. Many critics and fans believe he stole the show due to Alan Tudyk's fantastic performance.
  • Admiral Raddus, the movie's counterpart of Admiral Ackbar, quickly picked up a fan-base for giving the rebellion a giant middle-finger by refusing to surrender, and sends his rebel fleet off to support Rogue One at Scarif. It got to the point where the main ship of the Resistance is named after him, 30 years after the Battle of Scariff.
  • The Red Shirt rebel soldiers who Vader chases/tears through in his pursuit of the stolen plans make a strong impression in their brief appearance, especially Toshma Jefkin, the one who barely grabs the plans before running and screaming for the Tantive IV to launch.
  • The Hammerhead corvette Lightmaker, and its captain for ramming into a Star Destroyer, sending both it and another Star Destroyer careening into the shield gate.
  • Despite only seeing serious action in the opening scene and final battle, the Death Troopers were a big hit with the fanbase for their badassery, menace, and ruthless competence.

    Solo
  • A lot of people have really gravitated towards Enfys Nest, mostly due to being a mysterious yet oddly alluring figure and having a really cool-looking costume. Hmm, that sounds familiar. Having a kickass theme song helps too. This only increased with The Reveal that she and the Cloud Riders are actually a nascent rebel cell of various victims of the Empire fighting back, with Enfys herself having inherited the mask from her mother after she was killed resisting Crimson Dawn. There's also a rumor that the actress has signed on for two more films, leaving many to hope she's being set up for a bigger role in future.
  • Beckett's crew, Rio Durant and Val, are quite popular with the fans despite, or perhaps because of, the fact that neither of them survives the Conveyex heist.
