Some coaches became as popular as the main promotional coaches, some even moreso, even though their routines aren't given spotlight or featured in promotional materials.

  • An early example is the coach for "Video Killed The Radio Star"; in numerous comment sections on YouTube, users have commented on finding the coach cute, having a crush on the coach (both when younger and even at the time of writing the comment), and if the user is an artist, being inspired in some way by the design. It helps that the coach is a TV Head Robot, moves around in a dainty fashion, and makes different expressions on his screen.
  • The coaches for Scream & Shout are beloved by the community the moment that they are revealed, thanks to their striking outfit aesthetics and choreography that is highly in-sync with each other.
  • The coach for Smalltown Boy became popular as soon as the routine is revealed, which further helps that he is seen as an attractive twink by fans. His full routine also gives him a boost in popularity, with the routine itself leaving behind enough speculative material as to what had happened to him. It helps that he's portrayed by Mehdi Kerkouche in a surprising but very welcome return to the franchise.
  • The coach for Happier Than Ever, despite having been criticized for her slow-paced routine, is beloved for her thematic presentation, her coach design and the sheer amount of speculation of what causes her to thrash her house. It helps that she is featured prominently in fan arts, many of them tied to be close to her routine's theme.
  • Liza Friday, the coach for Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), is beloved by fans with her bearing a resemble to Kathy Beth Terry, a well-known alter ego of Katy Perry, as well as being Endearingly Dorky and a fun coach for a party-themed routine. With her appearance in the Enter The Danceverse story, her popularity quickly increases due to being a familiar but well-liked face amongst the cast, as opposed to the rest of the minor coaches that fans either ignored or left confused.
  • Epsilon, the coach for STAY, quickly grew popular for his surprisingly difficult yet entertaining choreography and cool coach design, making him almost as equally popular as the main coaches. Many fans wished that he would be featured in the Enter The Danceverse story.
  • Louise Dials, the coach for Telephone, became an instant hit among fans due to her striking visuals, her entertaining yet challenging choreography and performance attitude throughout her routine. Like Epsilon, many fans wish to see her in Enter The Danceverse, especially since Night Swan makes a cameo appearance at the start of her routine.
  • Liv and Blake, the coaches for Bring Me To Life, gained unexpecting popularity for having surprisingly engaging choreography from a genre that fans feared will be done poorly. It helps that they are also having a cool dark color scheme and outfit, which is deemed by fans to be very fitting.
  • Alzena, the coach for Numb, quickly caught the eyes of fans and became popular within the community, just like Liv and Blake. However, fans quickly latched to her and her routine due to how symbolism heavy the visuals are in the routine, making many fans emotional on the choreography and routine.
  • Layl and Gabriela, the coaches for the Extreme Version of Wasabi, quickly became very popular within the fanbase, thanks to their highly energetic and sassy routine as well as very attractive designs. It helps that Gabriela first caught attention in a beloved beta map and Layl made another appearance in the Extreme Version of Don't Cha.
  • Clementine, the coach for Can't Tame Her, became a fan-favorite the moment she was revealed, purely due to being portrayed by community member Avery "LittleSiha" Price in an instance of Promoted Fanboy.
  • The unused coach for "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is one of the biggest dark horses (if not THE ultimate dark horse) to ever exist in the franchise, despite that she appears in one Mashup and three Party Master Modes before quietly disappearing, and her status as a coach of a scrapped routine. Her association with the song, her cute Christmas-themed costume, and lively moves made her very memorable amongst the fanbase, so much that they constantly beg and wish that Ubisoft should add the song to future games and services, all in its unaltered glory. It also helps that the coach herself appears in numerous fan Mashups every year. This is somewhat acknowledged by Ubisoft themselves regarding of her popularity, as she is featured in the exclusive Behind-The-Scene book "The Art of Just Dance (10th Anniversary Edition)" with her album coach image, something that no other scrapped coaches are given privilege with.
