Factions
Global Defense Initiative
An international military taskforce assembled by the United Nations with the goal of fighting any threats to world peace and international liberty. Following the disaster that was the ending of the First Tiberium War, GDI is now struggling to stay alive as the Brotherhood of Nod moves to assume control over much of the planet.
- Awesome Personnel Carrier: Kazuar Walkers can transport two infantry units and the amphibious Wasp APC can do the same for eight.
- Kill Sat: Had access to their iconic Ion Cannon before Nod hijacked it to destroy the White House and win the First Tiberium War. They eventually mange to acquire a replacement, the ICARUS Ion Cannon after Nod Mission 15.
- Kinetic Weapons Are Just Better: In contrast to Nod's use of laser and tachyon particle beam weaponry, GDI sticks with traditional ballistics weaponry and cutting edge railguns to great effect.
- Mini-Mecha: Has access to mechanized walker units like the Kazuar and Scatterpack Walkers, each roughly the size of a small tank and lethal against infantry (and aircraft in the Scatterpack's case).
- More Dakka: They can field Vulcan scatterguns that can shred infantry to pieces in seconds. Best exemplified by the Scatterpack Walker, which has four Vulcan scatterguns, two for anti-infantry and two for anti-air purposes.
