Twisted Insurrection takes place in the supposed time period between Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun.
- Notice how when TS begins the Earth is already a Tiberium-ridden wasteland? But it's not that bad in the beginning of TI. Which leads to conclusion that TI began rather shortly after the Brotherhood of Nod emerged victorious from the first Tiberium War. You get to see the Earth slowly succumb to Tiberium infestation while GDI is struggling against their disbandment. The story of TI will end approximately at the time TS was supposed to begin.
- At the very least they do on the starting side, although some of the phrasing is a bit ambiguous as to how close. The most likely interpretation is that the GDI campaign starts in 2006 (with 2002 having been the year Nod hijacked the Ion Cannon), while the Nod campaign starts in 2009, the GDI campaign then having larger time-skips in the early missions that leave the two campaigns synchronised, with both pretty clearly taking place over a longer stretch of time than Tiberian Sun's campaign even disregarding the major GDI time-skips. Even if they don't get to 2030, at least it's likely they get to closer to 2030 than 2002.
