Main Characters
Nahlia Cole
The daughter of Aaron Cole and Lyraina Trelian. Nahlia is seventeen years old with a short and slender build, auburn hair, and dark green eyes. At the beginning of Book 1, she lives with her father in the town of Northshire, working as a barmaid in the Moonstone Inn.
- Action Girl: Though she starts starts out Book 1 rather timid, she eventually grows into this role, learning sword fighting, martial arts, and Ethermancy.
- All-Loving Hero: Despite her flaws, Nahlia is compassionate and caring over the course of the series. This includes going out of her way to avoid violence and making peace with her enemies.
- Badass Bookworm: Nahlia starts out the first book as a librarian’s apprentice. She goes on to learn Ethermancy from books since few living people believe in the lost magic.
- Half-Human Hybrid: Nahlia is half-Aeon, half-human.
- Healing Hands: Toward the end of Book 1, she learns to heal others people in addition to herself.
- No One Could Survive That!: Nahlia survives several dangerous situations that would have been lethal for most people. Most notably taking a bullet in the chest, then falling into a river from dozens of feet up. Justified due to her healing abilities.
- Missing Mom: She watched the Templars kill her mother when she was only a child.
- Squishy Wizard: Subverted. You might expect this based on her personality and description, but her healing abilities allow her to take a beating and recover.
- White Magician Girl: Nahlia fits this role for a good portion of the series. All of her abilities revolve around healing and protection in some way. Even when she's learning combat in Whitecliff Academy, she takes a more pacifist approach and prefers not to to hurt anyone.
Thane Solidor
Prince and heir to the kingdom of Dragonshard, Thane is the son of Thanadin and Avana Solidor. He's twenty-four years old. Tall and lean, with black hair and a dark complexion. His ancestor is the Archaeon Kalazhan.
- Kill It with Fire: Being a Sanctifier who can manipulate energy with his mind, Thane uses fire as his primary weapon.
- Missing Mom: His mother died giving birth to his younger sister.
Ciena Raider
A student in the Academy of Whitecliff Enclave and a member of Wolfe Clan. Ciena is the daughter of Cassella and Lindilus Raider. She's twenty years old with a muscular build. Her hair is dyed half blonde and half crimson, usually pulled back into two contrasting braids. Her ancestor is the Archaeon Raiden.
- Action Girl: Ciena is the epitome of this trope, training harder in combat than anyone she knows.
- Broken Ace: Despite being one of the most talented characters in combat and Ethermancy, Ciena is secretly self-loathing and distrusting of almost everyone.
- Master Swordsman: Even before she came into her Ethermancy, Ciena was among the best duelists in Whitecliff
Elias Raider
Ciena's twin brother, Elias is a student at the Academy and the commander of Wolfe Clan. He's tall and muscular, with light brown hair and golden eyes. His ancestor is the Archaeon Raiden.
- Dual Wielding: Elias constantly fights with two swords.
Relyn Vash
A student of the Academy and a member of Wolfe Clan. Relyn is eighteen years old with onyx hair and jade-green eyes. Her uncle is the Battlemaster of the Enclave. Her ancestor is the Archaeon Vashet.
- Action Girl: Efficient with bow and arrow, and melee weapons.
Aaron Cole
Aaron Cole is forty-two years old with a muscular build, light brown hair, and dark green eyes. He was once Templar during the times of The Purge. Now he starts Book 1 in hiding with his daughter, Nahlia, working as the owner and innkeeper of the Moonstone Inn.
- The Bartender: Book 1 opens with him tending the bar in the Moonstone Inn.
Kira Sandara
Kira is twenty-one years old with dark blue eyes and dark brown hair. She was once a slave in the city of Kalamir. She was freed six years ago by Ashara Solidor and now works as her handmaiden.
