Protagonist

    Latte Ectrie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miss_not_so_sidekick_ss2.jpg

A transmigrator who finds herself mysteriously transported into a web novel she was reading. An overenthusiastic young woman, she decides to watch her favourite story unfold in real time... All with a bucket of popcorn, of course.

  • Fun Personified: Latte is so enthusiastic and funny that no matter what she does, jokes quickly follows behind.
  • Hairof Gold Heartof Gold: Latte has blond hair, and though a minor villain in the story, Hyejung’s warm heart makes Latte a kind and brave soul.
  • Our Mages Are Different: Latte uses the power of money to buy magic scrolls that let her teleport, create magic wind, shield herself and all kinds of different effect.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Latte's favoruite food is popcorn, which fits her status as a spectator.
  • Undisclosed Funds: We don't know how much money Lattes book sales bring in, but we know it's a lot.
  • Yaoi Fangirl: Latte is a famous "Bimor" author, which is just that fantasy world's word for BL, AKA, Boy's Love.

    Evelyn

The protagonist of "The Flower and the Beast".
  • Expy: Of the protagonist of another novel written by the same author, "The Black-Haired Princess". Many of the 'events' involving Evelyn are parodies of scenes from BHP, such as her singing performance where the mask slips, and her sneaking into the hunting competition.
  • False Friend: Even before her resentment of Latte is revealed, there are many hints she's not a very considerate person. She seems to only view men as a means for resources, and women as pitiful creatures she has to protect. Despite 'being kind to everyone' she is unable to foster relationships on her own, and expects everyone to initiate so she doesn't have to. There are many instances where she is superficially 'worried' for Latte's safety, but doesn't inquire how she's doing after the fact and seems uninterested if she's told; it's one of the earliest hints to Latte that Evelyn isn't as true as she seems.
  • Foil: She has dark hair and green eyes, in contrast to Latte's blond hair and brown eyes.
  • Ideal Hero: She is meant to be this, at least to outsiders of the story.
  • Sheltered Aristocrat: This is her true self. Because she had it all (beauty, charm, friendship) gifted to her easily, she never developed maturity or wisdom. The story compares her to a beautiful tower that collapses because it could not stand by itself.

The Three Fishes

     Arwin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0cd19e5999ce4a3d19568b9c71d88e7c.jpg

The master of the tower of mages. He's one of the strongest character in the cast, and the most mischievous. He's always looking for something to entertain him.

  • Darkand Troubled Past: Arwin grew up in the slums, and this has made him somewhat distant from people.
  • Last Girl Wins: Arwin is the last of the three fishes we meet, and the one who ultimately wins Latte's affections.
  • Our Mages Are Different: Arwin is a genius with powerful innate magical that hasn't been seen before.
  • Tsundere: He loves teasing Latte and goading her on, but when her life is in danger he gets her to safety immediately and punishes her attacker with imprisonment in a time loop of getting killed over and over.

    Rondemio

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miss_not_so_sidekick_ss9.jpg

The crown prince of the kingdom, and the first fish we are introduced to. His beauty is supposedly legendary.

  • Chick Magnet: All the women in the kingdom find themselves infatuated with him.
  • First Girl Wins: He's the first guy Evelyn, the original protagonist, meets and ultimately marries.
  • Prince Charming: He's treated like this by almost everyone. As the crown prince of the kingdom, all the girls swoon over him, wishing to be his crowned princess.

    Kenneth Von Esbande

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miss_not_so_sidekick_ss12.jpg

The second love interest we are introduced to. He's the best knight in the kingdom, but he has an incredible dislike of women.

  • Chick Magnet: Kenneth is so popular with the ladies that he's been attacked, harassed, and stalked repeatedly.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: Justified. Kenneths disdain for all women comes from the fact that he's been harassed so frequently, he's come to dislike all of them on site. To the point that even being touched by a woman repulses him.
  • Master Swordsman: Kenneth is a master of the blade, and the best knight of the kingdom.

Side Cast

    Esula

    Princess Rosaline

  • Yaoi Fangirl: She's a huge fan of Lattes work. In fact, her love of Bimor altered her original fate of being trapped in an unfulfilled love.
