Awesome Music / Wish (2023)

  • "Welcome to Rosas" provides the introduction of the film, similar to "The Family Madrigal" from Encanto, as Asha greets the new welcomers to Rosas and sings about a wishing ceremony and King Magnifico.
  • In "At All Costs", Asha and Magnifico sing to the wishes about how they want to protect them from being hurt in the wrong hands. Each of their vocal performances is so achingly earnest that, out of context, it would be easy to mistake this for a romantic duet.
  • "This Wish", Asha's "I Want" Song, where she wishes for the people of Rosas to be freed and be able to have their own wishes.
  • "I'm A Star" is a smooth, cheerful song in which the animals explain to Asha that everyone and everything comes from stardust.
  • In "Knowing What I Know Now", Asha tells her friends that King Magnifico is not a good ruler, but an evil sorcerer who won't give anyone their wishes because he's lying and wants to keep them for himself. She rallies them into helping stop Magnifico and free the wishes for him as each of her friends start joining her while Amaya helps them on the plan to save Rosas. The whole song is backed by an ominous drumbeat that drives home what's at stake with their plan.
  • In "This Wish (Reprise)", while being tortured by Magnifico, Asha pressures the people of Rosas to challenge the mad sorcerer and wish on their wishes, which helps them overpower Magnifico as their wishes get freed.
  • "A Wish Worth Making" is a simple but very gentle song about holding on to your dreams that plays over the movie's credits, sung by Julia Michaels. In an earlier version of the film, it was sung by Sabino instead.
