Awesome Music / Goddess of Victory: NIKKE

Go To

  • Part of the Nikke experience is the music, and the overworld themes perfectly set up the mood for some chapters.
    • "Second Hand". In chapter 5, the Counter and the Commander are sent to a north base where they get separated by an avalanche. The OST, which would feel at home in a game like Mega Man X, captures the coldness and icy feeling that the commander is subjected to throughout the chapter.
    • "Frost Pillar", the main theme of chapter 6, begins with the a piano melody that reminds us that, despite the surface being overunned by the Rapture, there is still beauty to be found even in the most desolate areas.
    • "The Calm Before The Storm" has a title foreshadowing the inevitable clash between the Commander (and the Counters) versus Marian, now known as Modernia from the Heretics. There is also a subtle hint of Modernia's leitmotif.
    • "Volcanic Nest" is the appropriately theme of Nihilister, a nikke-dragon hybrid that is part of the Heretics. It embodies the volcanic, fire and brimstone environment and her fiery personality. Also like Modernia, Nihilister's leitmotif is heard throughout the theme.
    • "ARTIFICIAL SHANGRI-LA" is the music most Commanders will hear since it is the Outpost OST. Despite the Outpost being "worse" than the Ark (in lore), the upbeat soundtrack will make you feel at home.
  • Chapter 18's ending cutscene features "HERO", taking cues from Hiroyuki Sawano's signature drop and spirited vocals to make for an impressive Theme Music Power-Up; Laplace's, in fact, and it sure as hell slaps with the best of 'em.
  • "WINGS OF VICTORY" from Ajurika is the battle theme for the last part of chapter 18. It's explicitly associated with Laplace of the elite team Matis from Missilis, and, like her, it evokes hope, especially after being traumatized in the entire chapter following the removal of her NIMPH.
  • OVER ZONE introduces Dorothy's theme song, "SATELLITES", where Amanda Lee (Viper and Rupee's English voice actress) lends her voice to Dorothy for a song that resonates with Dorothy and Pinne. The Japanese version has Chiwa Saito's vocals instead.
  • Cosmograph is responsible for most of the OST and all of them are as awesome as the game.
    • "The Godness Fall" is the game's title theme, and is as sombre as it gets. It was even used in one of the Brief Encounters during the recollection of the Elevator incident.
    • "Marian" takes the sombreness of "The Godness Fall" and makes it even more sombre in one of the most memorable scenes of the game.
    • "TAKE MY MONEY!!", the shop OST, includes voicelines from the different Nikkes every time you select their shop that makes you want to buy at least one thing.
Centi: Welcome to the Raise and Rebuild Workshop!
Yan: [with a southern accent] Looks like we got company!
Dolla: Take as much time as you like.
      Rupee: Welcome to Rupee's shop!
Shifty: Hello, this is the Electronic Immigration System of the Central Government.
      Volt/Bolt: barking
    • The fane's opening, "We Rise", may start off somber, but it swiftly changes to a more intense beat, firmly establishing that mankind will take back everything it has lost.
  • "chromosome" is a funky techno track that will get you pumped as you prepare for the Tribe Tower and Simulation Room.
  • The Battle and BOSS themes:
    • "KHAMSIN". If you liked dubstep during its heyday, you will not be disappointed with this one.
    • "STRONGHOLD LAND EATER". For a boss that is quickly forgotten after its fight, it is also one of the most larger than life boss fights, since the rapture is the size of a complex.
    • Chatterbox's theme, "YOU CAN'T STOP US", wouldn't be out of place in a DOOM game.
    • "INFERNO OF NIHILIST" and "BURN IT ALL". Who knew that fighting a freaking DRAGON in a volcano with dubstep and hard rock could be so epic?
    • "DAYBREAK". "Get up Daybreak! Look at the light! This our fight!" in the context of Red Hood kicking the ass of the Rapture species that corrupted her we can easily imagine the battle in our mind with this music playing in the background.
  • "THE PILGRiMS acoustic ver." is the melancholic take on the original Pilgrims OST that is mostly associated with Snow White during the OVER ZONE event.
    • "RED ASH: DEAR SNOW WHITE" is once again associated with Snow White (more precisely, "Snow White: Innocent Days", a younger version of her) and plays during Red Hood's departure from the Goddess Squad, where Snow White verbally lashes out at Red Hood for leaving them due to her corruption, but instead of the acoustic version, it is played on piano.
    • "RED ASH: FREESIA" plays when a young girl meets Red Hood and is filled with admiration for her. There is an air of both mystery and familiarity here mixed with innocence, as though the child is someone the player should already know, given her voice.
  • STARRY SKY has done some songs for Nikke as well, both official and fanmade.
    • Their rendition of "Satellites" is a darker, more metal remix.
    • "Scarlet Song (Camellia)", done to commemorate New Year, New Sword, even comes with a music video and captures the mood of Scarlet's nostalgia trip perfectly.
  • We're Never Giving Up, the boss theme for the Crystal Chamber, is a hopeful theme that shows even in the face of impending doom, humanity will go down swinging.
