** Strategic Arms Limitation? Well, there are plenty of weapons floating around in this movie. And it involves [[CaptainObvious both the US and Russia.]]

* FridgeLogic: Quite a few cases, but perhaps the most notable - The President was awake when [[spoiler: Winter revealed his evilness]] and while this wouldn't necessarily [[spoiler: prove Salt's innocence]] it, in combination with the many other factors, could easily [[spoiler: clear her name.]]
** [[spoiler: The Director's Cut explicitly says the President was killed, changing the ending considerably.]]
** The scene where she checks into a hotel under a false name wearing a jacket she stole. Once she's in the room she goes into the bathroom and removes her false teeth and colored contact lenses, demonstrating how she is CrazyPrepared. At first you watch and you're like "Wow she's a master of disguise! I didn't even notice the (now obvious) fake facial features!!" but then you realise that the reason you didn't notice her disguise is because she looked ''exactly the same''' and was completely recognisable.
*** But it becomes FridgeBrilliance when you realize that she wasn't wearing those things to disguise herself from her pursuers... [[spoiler:she was wearing them as part of her cover, in order to resemble the ''real'' Evelyn Salt, the American girl she replaced as a child]].
* GeniusBonus: As you may have noticed, [[CaptainObvious the title is in all-caps]] on the disc case, so it looks suspiciously like [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_Arms_Limitation_Talks SALT.]]

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler: When Salt jumps over the balcony in order to snap Ted's neck with her handcuffs.]]

** As if Jolie removing her panties wasn't {{FetishFuel}} enough, realizing that she doesn't get a change of clothes throughout most of the first half of the story somehow makes all those action scenes so much more awesome.

* NightmareFuel: In the directors cut [[spoiler: instead of seeing her husband shot Salt is forced to watch him slowly drown as he is heavily chained and water is slowly pumped in to cover him up. He also watches her as he is covered and slowly drowns.]]

* TearJerker: [[spoiler: Poor Mike.]]

* HighOctaneNightmareFuel: In the directors cut [[spoiler: instead of seeing her husband shot Salt is forced to watch him slowly drown as he is heavily chained and water is slowly pumped in to cover him up. He also watches her as he is covered and slowly drowns.]]

** Some found the scene where Salt tries to [[spoiler:seduce Winter in order to be let in the bunker]] to be quite narmy, but, of course, YourMileageMayVary.

** Strategic Arms Limitation? Well, there are [[{{Understatement}} a few]] weapons floating around in this movie. And it involves [[CaptainObvious both the US and Russia.]]

* FetishFuel: Angelina Jolie [[spoiler: with a masculine haircut, wearing men's clothes.]]
** Jolie removing her panties so she can use them to block the camera. Also Jolie using her bedroom eyes and husky voice [[spoiler: to try and get Winter to let her inside the bunker.]]

* ShootTheShaggyDog: The first half of the movie. [[spoiler: After desperately searching for her husband, she finds him...only to be forced to stand there and watch him die as a test of loyalty]]. Granted, it's what opens up the second half of the plot, and in a way it nicely averts AMillionIsAStatistic and ProtagonistCenteredMorality (since it could be interpreted that her actions - or inactions - mean she believes that [[spoiler: preventing Orlov's plans to start a world war is more important than saving Mike]]. Even so, it did seem to undermine the first half of the movie.
** Of course, doing this makes the first half of the movie a violent rescue movie and the second half of the movie a kind of revenge movie. Both are normally styles of film reserved exclusively for male protagonists, yet Salt pulls off the lead role being at least as bad-ass as any male action hero.
