An [[GeneralFailure incompetent general]] who's looked down upon, Safida intends to start a war with the Shinark tribe, a ethnic group of civilians, both out of personal disdain and to look like a victorious general. To that end, he imposed poor conditions to the Shinark tribe, leaving them in great poverty and stealing their spirits, considered sacred to them. Once the Shinark tribe retaliates in a bloody crusade, Safida showed no mercy, burning their villages and trying to have all of them killed, including innocent bystanders. He even [[InsaneAdmiral abused his authority]], sending soldiers without a care to near certain death, resulting in thousands of casualties. When the Shinark tribe's main village was taken over, Safida allowed his men to RapePillageAndBurn it while glorifying himself. Once he's charged for his crime by the royal court, Safida tried to throw his own followers under the bus to save himself, knowing it will result to the death penalty.

** Though it goes with most military fiction that focuses on the lower-ranked soldiers, ''Aldermamin On the Sky'' really hammers in the dangers and consequences of incompetent leadership within a military, along with the the idiocy of putting rank above intelligence when it comes to strategy.
** Along with that is the stupidity of being anti-science, as it shows how the Empire ends up lagging behind other countries due to their shunning of new technology, and end up losing countless lives in situations like the Sinak Rebellion due to not bothering to consider issues like alpine sickness.
** Just because a person is right about the current state of the country being poor doesn't mean they're actually capable of doing ''better''.

* RealityEnsues: Chamile is obviously unstable with severe mental issues due to her abuse, resulting in an intense hatred of the imperial line. Once she takes the throne that instability causes her to drive the country into the ground.

Not only is he an interesting antagonist, but his abilities and personality drip MagnificentBastard, and he's competent enough to be a challenge for [[BrilliantButLazy Ikta]], who many thought leaned on the wrong side of GodModeSue.
