Roadies are later presented as a stealth-based infantry in Ironheade's army, wielding incredibly large amps and invisibility skills that allowed them to free Ophelia's Razorgirls from Lionwhyte's pleasure tower. Watt-R-Boys are the Hair Metal Militia equivalent.

* VillainRevealsTheSecret: PlayedWith, where Demon Emperor Doviculus seemingly reveals the the heroes that one of them, Ophelia, is TheMole, resulting in her being cast out after they escape. It turns out, however, that he was actually referring to Eddie, who is not TheMole, but the son of the ''previous'' Empress and thus a half-demon himself.

* NeglectfulPrecursors: When the Titans ascended, the left behind the Tainted Coil that they had kept as pets. Confused and frightened by the Titans' departure, the Tainted Coil attempted to recreate the Titans but created humans instead. Believing humans to be a mockery of the Titans and jealous of their ability to use their knowledge, the Tainted Coil enslaved them.

* RaysFromHeaven: The rays are portrayed as stagelights in the sky. They can be utilized to mark waypoints and destination and to mobilize your troops during battle segments.

* AlienSky: Lots of work went into the skies of Brütal Legend, which is never ever clear blue[[labelnote:*]]Except at the very end, so Eddie can effectively [[RidingIntoTheSunset Drive Into The Sunset]][[/labelnote]]. Inspired by the popular works of Creator/FrankFrazetta, the sky's colors shifts all kinds of colors at all times, and at night, brilliant stars and evil looking nebulae shower the night sky. Each playable character has the power to change the sky to be themed around them, causing different effects.
** Just adding to the trope, when rain falls, it sometimes comes accompanied by ''meteor showers''.

* AnimalVehicleHybrid: A few of the local fauna from qualify, unsurprising given the HeavyMetal nature of the world. The most obvious is the Razorfire Boar, an unholy union between a very angry wild boar and an even angrier chopper bike. There's a mission that requires you to ride about three of them so your army can get their first long range fighters, and a trophy can be acquired for riding one a set distance doing tricks.

* DifficultySpike: Even if you get only the basics of Stage Battles, you can do fine on Normal difficulty. Playing on Brütal, though, is just what the name implies. The enemy general will often spam infantry whose only function is to ZergRush anything in sight, as well as use units one stage level ahead of your current one, while you beat yourself up trying to find free Fan Geysers just to raise your fan intake and not run out of army at a critical moment. Especially terrible when you're fighting Drowning Doom troops, who are stubbornly resilient (add to that the Bride's inherent ability to slow you down and the ''vehicles'').

The game is noteworthy in being inspired by, and providing a ludicrous amounts of {{Special Guest}}s, {{Shout Out}}s, and references to just about everything ''[[TestosteronePoisoning metal.]]'' All the areas of the game are basically [[TheEighties 1980s]] metal album covers, even. It provided yet another cult hit for Creator/DoubleFine in their long history of cult hits, but received mixed reviews after its DevelopmentHell ended. It has a very dedicated and vocal fanbase.
